Patsy will know what this is--

I think this is called Phlox, but Patsy will know what it is.
I think I gave it to Laura...it is at her house. I love it as it
reminds me of Momma. She love that little flowering moss
and this reminds me of that. I know she would have loved this
plant.

Patsy Will know if it is true?

They say it takes 7 years for a lilac to bloom after
you set it out. Well, I had a sprig of Mom's Lilac
here and finally got it to bloom and then I decided
to move it to Galla Meadow and it died...I had a
little piece left here at the house and now it has grown
tall and this year it is blooming. Also, took a picture
of the kids that Laura put in a frame for me. Erin
took all the pictures. They are very good.

Sisters

I got the nicest email today. Well, it should have went to
Fleta, but her email bounced so I got it. I am going to
copy it here, but not put her email address... Hope all the
Sisters will read it.

Hello, I sent this to the email I found listed for Fleta and
it keeps coming back. Would you mind forwarding it to
her correct one.
Many thanks!

Fleta, I just wanted to say that I found your poem
'Sister's Gone' and was so touched and blessed. I also
was directed to your story about your sister Debbie.
That was such a beautiful story. You were truly blessed to
have had the opportunity to grow up with Debbie and
love her. I too have lost a sister. My sister Lyndie was
murdered over Memorial Day weekend in 1983. I am
the 7th girl in a family of 10 children; 8 girls and
2 boys. Lyndie was 6 years older then me and killed at
38 years old.
Yes, one does finally get 'through' it, but as you know,
one never gets over it. I sent your poem and story to
my other sisters and they all loved it too. Very special.
I'll have to dig up the poem I wrote about our Lyndie and
email it to you. By the way, my younger sister is Deborah
(Deb) also.
Thanks again for a beautiful 'visual' poem of what it's like
when your sister is gone.
Blessings, Evie

Related to Patsy & Dillard

Marion Don Deshon

I got an email recently that said...this guy died and he
is kin to you. I checked his name...never heard of him.
But decided to see if I had him listed in my family file.
Sure enough he was there. His Great Grandparents were
Henry Poore and Mary Powell. His mother was Pearl Poore.
Mary Powell was the daughter of Elisha Powell and Mary
Holderman. Elisha Powell was our Henry Powells brother.
So we are kin to the guy who passed way...but what I
wonder is....was Dillard Poor kin to Henry Poore who
married Mary Powell.

Sorry Does Not Really Help

A lesson I have tried to teach my own kids and my kids
at school is.......sorry does not help much. Telling
someone you are sorry as Madoff or is it Made Off did
does not help the folks he cheated. An I am sorry
is just a slap in the face. It is my opinion he is
pleading quilty to protect his sons and the 1000s of
others involved in his scam.

Another lesson I have often preached is--yes, you can
get forgiveness for a sin by crying out to God, but
you will still live with the consequences of what you
did for the rest of you life. The consequences remain
even if your sin is erased.

Galla Lake

We went to the earth Dam on the other side of
Galla Lake Sunday. I took this photo. We live
on the right side of the lake about a quarter
of mile from the Lake edge...can't see us tho.

Anything to Get out of Class!

Today a young man came up to a teacher friend of mine
and said--
Hunter: My Nose is bleeding.
Teacher: Wipe your nose.
Hunter: I have it is bleeding.
Teacher: Remove the paper towel.
She swished her finger under his nose and tada--no blood
on her finger! He had marked all under his nose with
magic marker--even up in his nose. To this he said--
Hunter: I did not mark my nose with a marker. I only
have a blue marker.
Teacher: Let's go to the office.
Hunter had to scrub his nose...but I guess he won as he
did get out of class!
This is the first time in 36 years I know of a kid marking
up his nose and claiming nose bleed.

Chicken Mania

You can see how I have junked up the edge of my pen
trying to discourage whatever varmit is hungry for chicken.
We have a meaner dog out now. Last night the chicken thief
had no luck. I could see where he had dug at the front of the
pen trying to get in. I have had to work on the back of the pen.
He had picked and pulled at it until I had chickens out 2 days in
a row. I think this is a coon or a coyote trying to get my hens.
I doubt he will give up. I will have to keep a close watch.

Paul Harvey

I think Helen liked Paul Harvey...he is gone
at 90. I used to catch him on the radio.
