Book Ladies Deliver

Patsy bought me a book--God's Final Jubilee and Laura shared one with me--Chickens in the Road.  Larry got my fence up by my tomatoes.  I have not tied the plants to the fence but will.  More of my Forgotten Dreams are blooming.

It is too hot for me to toil in the garden so now I have books to read.  Thanks, Patsy and thanks, Laura.  I am going to make notes in the book Patsy sent...well really, thank you, Sam as he sent the book.

Forgotten Dreams

Day Lily Garden is starting to bloom--Forgotten Dreams.  I have lots of forgotten dreams, but a lot of fulfilled wishes in my life too.  The Lilies only have a few blooms now but in a couple of days the stems will be full of these beautiful flowers.

 Okra
 Squash and Cucumbers
 Kentucky Wonder Pole Beans
Potatoes ready to dig.

Turtle Soup?

We got another turtle today.  One less in the pond.  This one was huge.  I don't think turtle soup even sounds good!

Playing Soccer

Astrid is in Monroe, LA playing soccer with a team from AR against teams from the southern region.  She will go again in July and this one will be in Alabama. Above her room and below with her t-shirt they gave.
Sigrid's hibiscus has a bunch of blooms now.

Don't Feed The Monkeys

Garden Sass

I got half of the grass out of my green beans yesterday.  Today I worked at it again.
You can see I got the grass out.  It was two wheel barrows full for my chickens.  The beans at the far end are much smaller; it is not an optical illusion.  The deer ate them about half way.  I put the milolite stuff on them and I have not had the deer have another supper on me.
I dug a few potatoes and picked two zucchini squash.  We like yellow best, but these ready and the yellow are not.
Okra is growing...it will finally be over head high.
My corn is starting to produce.
I wore out one hoe, but Larry got me a new one at the coop.  I have more than one hoe but the one I broke is my favorite.  He said he could put a new handle in it, but I wanted one now.  He can fix it and I will have a hoe for a helper?

Wally World Trip

Sigrid is not really very strong.  Pop thought she might ride a bike she liked more than her old one.  She was surely proud of it.  She and Pop went together to get pick it out!

Sigrid's Hibiscus

Sigrid's School Clothes

Eric got a bonus check in May.  He split it between his girls so they could buy new school clothes.  Pop threw some into the pot too.

Sigrid shopped for school clothes in FL.  She came over and modeled for us.
I like this dress.

This red and black outfit will be good for school dress up as it is Russellville colors.
 The orange shirt says Awesome!
The gap hoodie will be nice in cool weather.
This one is Laura's favorite.  Chevron pants!
This one is Sigrid's favorite.  Oshkosh overalls!
This has bike shorts with a long, loose top.
Pop like this one.  Green is his favorite color.
Sigrid's Dad like the yellow and blue together.
Gap t shirt with jogging pants...really soft.
 Yellow and navy together....really spiffy.

Down To The River

O sisters let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
O sisters let's go down
Down in the river to pray
I thought of the above song by the Soggy Mt. boys when Helen said she did not go down to the River to pray.  I don't know if they prayed at the Buffalo, but I am sure they thought of a little lad leaving and longed for his safe return to their arms once more.

Today

See how the Lilies go so quickly?
This is a Cone Flower.  Planted plenty, got one!  Hope the seeds will fall and next year I might have more.
I can pick a mess of squash today or wait til tomorrow.
Kentucky Wonder beans already climbing my fence.
Above is what I put on the garden that discourages the deer.  It will not eliminate them but helps.
Below are three sister!
We should look for pleasure in simple things.  Today I was overjoyed when I spotted this beautiful friend near my back porch!
