Saturday Sunshine

Astrid has her fountain and flowers bubbling. It’s really pretty by her back door.

Ingrid and Justin are here from Alabama for a visit. Today all Eric and Laura’s family are going to Silver Dollar City. I’ll get to see them Sunday as we celebrate Siggie’s 21 birthday.

Memory Lane Cafe’s catfish was pretty good. It’s always nice to visit with a friend over a meal. Hush puppies are little balls of corn meal with onions that are fried with the fish.  I had cold slaw and potato and iced tea. As I have gotten older, it seems nothing is as good as I imagine it will be. I could taste garlic in the fish coating. I would have preferred a little red pepper.  It was certainly better than anything I could have cooked.

    Oh the catfish and the hush puppies look so good! That is a nice looking fountain at Astrids house!

    This is a lot of fun. I haven't had catfish in ages. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to taste it now though.

    And I thought it was just me. Yep, as I've gotten older some of the food I used to like doesn't taste like I remembered it. Linda in Kansas

    Love the sunshine! We're finally getting some too. Thanks for explaining hush puppies; I think I would like them. I'm glad you had a good meal out. Good at our age is like fabulous was when we were younger. I aspire to be OK most days.
