This is one of the first places Laura visited. We were at our neighbors V. A. and Duvle Watkins. Larry always made friends with older folks. Laura’s about a week or two old. I recall that double knit quilt Duvle had. It was made with tiny squares. Astrid is fixing taco salad for lunch. We’ll have cheese cake and fried pies for dessert. I bought Laura a quart of local honey for her birthday and money for a fall outfit.
I made a boy blanket and hat from the scraps of Sig’s poncho. Was short on the blue and filled in with another blue. Ruined the blanket for me but I wasn’t buying another skein.

I admire anyone who can make a blanket; you are 1000 times craftier than I am. Taco salad and cheesecake--YUMMY! I've never had a fried pie and am not even sure what it is.
