Boxley Elk

A 6th grader at my school had his name
picked to elk hunt. He shot a big elk bull.
Boxley, AR has a big herd of elk. I bet
the folks there can't have a garden. The
little deer here destory my garden.

Chicken Ridge Chicks!

Most of these chickens are a breed called
"Ridge Chickens". They were cross-bred by
an elderly lady in Carroll County, AR. Chicken
lovers over the entire USA want them, but
you have to have connections to get this breed!

To Be Young Again!

If I could be young once more
And stretch my toes to the sky
I would enjoy each day and store
The memories for bye and bye!

Chicken Ridge Calling

This morn Chicken Ridge called me
when I went to get my paper news.
He said -- Get up, get going
Today NO time to lose!

December 2004

I am dreaming of a little cooler weather.
Yesterday it was 90 here. But when the
cool gets here, I will be dreaming of sunshine.
Oft, I wonder why I cannot be satisfied with
today, with my life, with myself.

Erin my Hiker!

Erin has always loved the outdoors--hiking is one

of her favorite things. She told me today that someday

she hopes she can have chickens like Aunt Patsy and

maybe some goats like the Poor Boy! Maybe someday

she can move to the country...I know she would love

the life and Greg would too!

Pullet Egg

The largest egg is little too! It is from one of the
older Banties I kept, but I think this little egg is
from one of Patsy's pullets that she hatched out
this spring. I gave it to Siggie for her breakfast!

Things I know

In the end of our days, what we have collected matters not!

The offspring of our bodies is left on earth as a remembrance
of who we are.

Doing good is not always within us, but if we do not feel
repentance over our bad deeds they still stain us with sin.
We must repent to be forgiven.

Sins' results remain in our lives even with forgiveness..
something like do the crime and do your time. Yes, your
sin is wiped away, but consequences for your actions are
forever with you.

When we are weakest, our Father is strongest for us. We
find our faith in our darkest hour.

God have mercy on my evil self....today! Hopefully, I will
not hurt a little child's spirit with bad words but lift up
someone with a truth.

Oct. 2005

In 1988, we bought this old Studebaker. We both love
Studebakers. It was a one owner and Renee Sims mother
from Dardanelle, AR was the only driver...it only had 30
thousand miles on the car....but Renee (male) had parked
it under a tree after his dear Mom died and let it sit there.
So when we got it the inside of the car was bad and the
floor panels were rusted out. We parked it under a shed
and kept it until 2003...well, in Oct. 2005, the new owners
came back to Galla Creek and showed us how SHE looked.
Wow! Larry was a little sad that he did not fix her up, but
I really was over joyed to see that the old car was back
like it came originally. Success is one step from failure.

Success--one step from failure!

The spider, dropping down from twig,
Unfolds a plan of her devising,
A thin premeditated rig
To use in rising.

And all that journey down through space,
In cool descent and loyal hearted,
She spins a ladder to the place
From where she started.

Thus I, gone forth as spiders do
In spider's web a truth discerning,
Attach one silken thread to you
For my returning.
