Masterpiece

Red sky at night is my delight! Phinnie and I walked to get the mail. The sky was a masterpiece to behold.  Who painted it?

Beaver Moon

Lil Red sent me a text early.  “Go out and look at the moon”.  What a gift to see the beautiful November moon.  From all the frost covering the Meadow, I could understand why it’s known as a Frosty Moon.  A more common tag for it is the Beaver Moon.  November’s full moon signals the beginning of the winter season. It is dubbed the Beaver Moon because Native American hunters set traps for beavers during this time in the year to harvest their fur in preparation for winter.

If I had went out in the middle of the night, I could have seen the eclipse.  At least I saw the beautiful full moon.

Hat for Siggie

I made Sig a hat to keep her ears warm.  Ingie got her flu shot and Covid booster yesterday.

Baldfaced Cypress

These are Cypress trees.  They amaze me because where I grew up there were no Cypress trees.  The Baldfaced Cypress loves a swamp.  They have ridges in their trunks and can live 1000’s of years, but they’re not oldest tree in the world.  It’s in California—a Bristlecone Pine.  Well, it’s the oldest known, older even than the giant Redwood trees.

Laura and I walked at 4:30 A.M. and didn’t even need a jacket.  Felt like spring time.  I took a picture of the Sweet Gum under the lamp light.  Sweet Gums are right there with Walnuts on my list of least favorite yard trees. Too many Sweet Gum balls to trip an old lady.

God’s Decorations

God’s decorating Galla Meadow for His Son’s birthday.

My Own Backyard

Sometimes we don’t appreciate the beauty that’s before us.  Last night at twilight I went out to lock my chickens up and looked at Crow Mountain.  The trees and leaves are just as beautiful as those along highway 7 I marveled at Saturday and these are “looking out my back door”.

It looked like an angel was sailing across the sky.

New Shoes Old Shoes

Ada got new shoes yesterday.  I bought her good keen sandals in the summer, but it’s getting late for sandals.  She was proud of her new shoes.  But after a while she slipped into the bedroom and pulled them off and donned her rain boats again.  She does have a look of apology on her face.  Something like, “but, Mom, I love my rain boots more”.

Astrid’s Friend Hitched

This was outside the church.  The reception was held in a friend’s barn.

Logan and Astrid make a lovely couple.
Sigrid is on the swim team.  All that flapping of legs like flipper on tv makes skinny legs.  She’s stunning.
I know Astrid thought the dress was too low cut.  You wear what the bride picks.  Asti is modest.
Laura bought Sigrid and Ingie a new dress.  Ingrid is wearing a black rabbit coat.  I bought it about 40 years ago. It still is wearable.
Uncle Gary cut Pop some cedar slabs.  I think Larry wanted to make a clock. One is under the cake.  Both Larry and his brother Gary have passed.

 Ingrid’s eyes are closed. Pooh!

New Flowers For Pop

Erin wondered if I could watch Ada a while today while she went to Greta’s basketball games at Hollister.
Ada and I got assistance from Sister Helen to put up a Christmas bouquet for Pop.  Later Ada cleaned Sister’s house a little.  Helen fixed Ada some good food.

Ada loved Patsy’s angel.

Laura bought a squirrel for Pop’s flowers.  It’s squirrel hunting time.  He loved that.  Helen did a good job arranging his bouquet.  Thank you, Sister.  Helen has a new massage chair.  I tried it and it really felt good.

Yellow Maple

My Red Maple is bare.  This one in my back yard is yellowish orange and really pretty.  The yellow leaves are turning into more orange hues everyday.  I noticed the Bradford Pears are turning red.  Nature always puts on a show if we’ll only look.
