Some one sent me an old Blevins picture.
It is the James K Polk Blevins family. He was
the son of James Blevins and Elizabeth Blevins...
yes, they were both Blevins. They lived near
Gaddy corner and James was killed at the
beginning of the Civil War. Elizabeth married
a Keeland but they did not have any kids.
Polk married Catherine Mahala Walker. She was
the daughter of William Turner Walker and Miatta
Potts. I love the picture. It is probably just
after 1900. Polk and Mahala lived near Reed
Springs, Mo. Elizabeth Blevins Keeland died at
their house in 1896. Blessed memories.
Left to right - Cynthia, Floyd, Polk, Mahala, Samantha, Orlena, Lydia
Back Row Nova, Onis.

dillard said the blevins were fighting fools. one time they got into a shoot out with neighbors and one woman got her arm shot off.can't remember who the other family was but they had a on going fued for years.
This was the Badleys, Scotts and Blevins..they killed Henry Blevins and a girl got her leg shot off.
They had been a dance and were on their way home. the one guy was dating a Scott girl but was with someone else...I think the way it was..Poor Henry Blevins was just with these folks and he was shot to death.
