What year is the question! It is hot summer, perhaps August. Daddy was working at night on Table Rock is my guess. Something cold was in the refrigerator pan in the middle of the table! My guess on the year is 1957. Helen would be 3 years old. Happy Birthday a day early, Sister. I am working again and tomorrow I might not have enough energy to make a post.

these photos always make me sad, it was 57 and daddy was working on the dam. no doubt there was more money coming in but I always think of how poor we were in that time. perhaps debbie being the way she was put a blight on that time. we were so worried about her all the time afraid she would die and daddy was abslutely heart sick about her that is why it was such a horrible time we all took our strenth from him and since he didn't have any strenth we didn't either. i think there was ice cubes in the holder to go in the tea.
The walls have not sheetrock or paper. The ceiling the same pine boards. The floor looking the same. Patsy has finished high school as you can see her picture. Momma has made biscuits as I am eating one. Daddy just looks drained. I thought it was 1957. Betty
Fleta had on that dress in a school picture.. maybe...It had 3 buttons on it in the school picture..this may have been the summer afterward. It makes me sad also but I do not feel the sME WAY AS Patsy I had a different Daddy than Pat. He learned on the first 3...I always felt safe.Debby was probably over a year old so I also imagine it was the summer of 57..If I was 3 Betty would have been 7 and Fleta 9 and a half...God always has a plan...something like little Debby being the way she was seemed like such a worry then actually turned out to be the greatest blessing on our family...Oh what I would give to hold that little chubby dry skined hand again...truely, truely a pure child of God. All of her life, never told a lie, never hurt a soul.
I pulled up Fleta's school pic from 55-56 and she did not have on a green dress...winnie jo posted it...I think the green dress school pic was when Fleta was older but Mom made them all and only one style....In 56 we have those pics of you, me and mama holding Debby on Grandma Gaddy's porch....we are older in the table picture and the one on Granny's porch has a date on it...i do think this one is 57
