Found this poem that fit my oldest Sister. It is
by Mary Elizabeth Mahnkey..
TO A MELANCHOLY LADY
Raise some guineas
Raise some gourds.
Make a little gesture towards
A richer life in service passed
To leave some imprint that may last.
If not great deeds
Or golden words,
Then raise some guineas
Raise some gourds.

Very sweet!
the next time i order pics i'm ordering this one to frame on my wall. i think it is special
I really like it...and it does remind me of my sister. Of love all her poetry.
I like that poem. We don't have to do great things to make a difference. That's what I take from that. We probably don't even have to raise some guineas. I've raised gourds - and maybe that's enough.
I love the poem & I love the picture...you should send it in to COUNTRY magazine.
