Mike Avery took this picture from the Atkins' High School of the tornado coming . Larry is going with his brother Roger today...from here to Clinton, AR following the path the twister took. It was on the ground longer than any tornado that is recorded.
If I had seen something like that coming toward me I'd have run across the street to the only basement in our neighborhood. It's awe-inspiring, that's a sure thing.
Wow, that's an amazing shot. Like Annie, I'd have been looking for a basement. Back in the 50's I can remember people having what they called storm pits. Now I see some having these cylinder type things to get into.
