Darla

Every year Laura dresses for Halloween.  This year she’s Darla from Finding Nemo.  She created those braces and head gear from a hanger, paper clips and the backs of ear rings.  She does her costume shopping at Marva and Salvation Army stores!

Today is about the hardest day of the year for teachers.  Laura’s school has 4th and 5th graders.  I saw her come home a little early.  She was exhausted and had ear ache from being outside all afternoon in the wind.  I remember thinking—could I just call in sick today?
