Sunday Morning

I mowed the weeds down yesterday. The tank was just 1/4 full when I started. After I mowed most of the backyard, Laura and Sigrid came and sat on the porch with me. Sigrid is looking for a summer pharmacy job. In a couple of weeks she’ll have one year completed. It was great to hear all about her life and friends. Laura filled my mower. The diesel can is so heavy when it’s full that I can hardly lift it. Diesel is over $5.00 a gallon here.

After I finished mowing, I felt like resting like the donkeys.

Erin made banana muffins for their Sunday breakfast. They’d be good with a cup of coffee.
I have several friends who have passed away. Mary Bourne gave me this plant many years ago. I think of her when it blooms. It’s called a money plant. In the fall it’ll have a glassy round seed appear the size of a half dollar. The purple blooms are pretty too.
Erin’s azaleas are blooming. I kill azaleas so I have given up on them. I think they are beautiful and have purchased several over the years. Once I planted an entire garden of them. They all died. I kill mums too. 😄

I figure that the weather or ground conditions kill my outdoor plants, not me. Is that just an excuse? I miss the special flowers at my mom and dad's house; there were so many memories tied up in them. Now that we don't own the house, I've lost that connection.
