Wade Hampton Blevins Marriage

Wade Blevins is a son of Armstead Blevins who is a son
of Old Richard Blevins. They were in Carroll County, AR
in 1840, but left and lived in Texas for about 20 years before
going to Arizona where some of the Blevins were cattle rustlers
and killed in a shoot out. Some of our Blevins who stayed in
Carroll County, AR grew up with the Sisters!
I love this old marriage license!

High Voltage!

These lines are high voltage ones going from the Nuclear
Plant near my home. The farmers whose lands were crossed
by these lines reported problems in their cattle. I remember
hearing of birth defects and such. I have not heard of this in
a long time...but I think anyone could see that animals who
lived under these lines might have problems.
Reporting this for Annie...

Big Chimney!

This big chimney is the cooling tank for the nuclear
plant near my house. The big electric lines are carrying
power from the plant. My house is all electric, but my
big wish is to have a gas cooking stove. I think they
cook better and I have a fear of no power and freezing
to death in the winter! This tower cools the water the
plant uses to make electricity. Lots of folks in my
River Valley work at this plant!

Sisters are in a minority!

We are the new minority.
Our group will be the lesser number.
Once we roamed in a multitude
But now many of us slumber.
Only one in six today
are born to share our blue
Will we be denied jobs and housing
In a generation or two?
Will the parents of a blue eyed babe
have to hide them in the nile
To make sure they grow
and aren't sent to exhile?
Oh, blue eyed friends
Where have we all gone?
We are being conquered
By those dark eyed browns
When you see us will you
Smile or frown?
Only one in six babies today are born with
blue eyes. In a few generations will we be
a memory?

Dot's Shady Oak has bag worms!

Dot in GA may have moved to the highlands. Her blog is
taken over by folks selling medicine to enhance your
sexual experience. I want the old Dot back. I don't
like the stuff they posted there. Dot, please come home.

Martins will be here soon!

Our Martins will be here soon. Then I will know that
spring is here. They appear in March and stay with
us through the summer. Seems like suddenly one day
they are here with us and just as quickly move on in the fall.

Book Shelf and Horse Show!

Christensen Girls

I have not posted pictures of my girls in a
while. I went down yesterday to see the
new book shelves, Greg Jones (Erin's
husband), made Astrid and snapped a
photo of each of my RIDS!

Hidden Robins!

This is like one of those photos in the waiting room of
an office. Robins are hid all in the leaves. I could see
three of them but there were many more.

My School Going to the Dogs!

This dog has been roaming around my School. He is
encouraging the students to read and stand up for
what is right. You will see that written on the sign
behind him. I try to stand up for what is right and
sometimes it gets me in hot water...but oh, well!
Father taught the Sisters to stand up for what is right!
Well, both our Fathers.

This week, I took Sister 4, Dot's, Win's advice and took the
unlimited long distance on my phone bill!
Sis 4 it cost 50 cents more than I was paying and
my internet will be 5 times faster.
I was thrilled with the deal.
The down side for Patsy, Fleta, Helen and
other family members is.....
I will need to call all of you often so
I feel like I am getting a good deal.
