Grafitti

I saw this pretty Swamp Rose on my morning walk. It’s a member of the hibiscus family.  I spotted this graffiti on one of the rocks along the pier of Lake Dardanelle State Park.  It took some time to paint.  The Park Rangers will wash it away when they discover it.  Since the Arkansas River was one route of the Trail of Tears, the image seemed quite fitting there on the rocks.  Before the treaty that deeded less of Arkansas to the Cherokees, Chief John Jolly lived across the River from here in the Bottoms and Chief Tahlonteeskee lived near Dwight Mission.
