Sigrid and Sheetrock

Sigrid is getting an early start on being a volleyball player.  She is taking lessons from AR Tech players each Sunday.

Larry started hanging our sheetrock in the livingroom.   It is nice to have the couch out of the way.  He will do half the room and then the other two walls.  He is going to remove the flue brick.

Elephant Ear

This is Erin's Elephant Ear.  Isn't it beautiful

The image of Helen shooting a snake in a crack on the porch is scary indeed.  Helen, get some of that tick flea repellent and pour a bunch in the crack.  The snake will leave there...you can catch him crawling in the yard and shoot him.

Glad Gilbert is taking care of his old Sisters.  The Monument guy where I got Clayton's stone asked if my Sisters were "elderly" and I promptly said "yes".

Cross Country

Astrid got second in the cross country race today.  She can not go to their practices (plays on the volleyball team ,too) so she is at a disadvantage.    We were really proud of how she ran!

Great Visit Home

I enjoyed visiting at Momma's place.  The food was good and the company better.  Guess I will shoot for coming Oct. 11, Reunion Day at Alpena.

 Greta decided she wanted bangs!

Clayton got a praise postcard from his teacher.   Uncle Clayton would be pleased that he is doing well in math.

Ingie scored 10 straight points in one of the Conway Volleyball games.  She scored out winning the game!

Woo Woo

Ingrid's RMS Gale's Volleyball team beat Conway, both games this evening.  Game was away and we did not get to go see her.  Glad for the win.

I Can Read!!

Whirlwinds Beat Conway

Astrid's team had another nail bitter and again she was on the line at the end....scoring last 2 points to win!

View From Cheryl Ann's Porch

Helen, in case you missed by other post.  Will try to come Friday.  Couch is 7 feet long if you want to plan where to sit it.  Would you trade for the rocker?

Working Away

Larry is working on the living room.  I will bring Helen the couch. Planning on Friday, but will not get to Momma's until 12 or so. Yes, sorry Fleta, I am going to Momma's.  Will stop in Harrison and pick up Erin.  Will stop by Baileys and get Brother's headstone. Erin is bringing her camera.  I want lots of pictures of Momma's house before Helen gets it so spic and span that I don't recognize it.  Larry said the couch will work in the white truck.  He will tie it in.

Today my favorite psychologist had another great children's article.  It said that a lot the things our parents did worked.  And most parents today find them unacceptable and don't use them.  The practices of today's parents have created children that are self centered.  That goes completely against the teachings of a christian. We should think of others not always ourselves.

You need to get down off your high horse!  That was one of the phrases.  Momma used it a lot.

Children should be seen not heard.  Momma did not say that but she said go outside and play.  Get out of here.  I sort of remember her with the broom sweeping us out so to speak.  But she did manipulate us a little as she would say we could not stay out playing until say 2 and that way we wanted to stay out there longer.

Because I said so.  Don't explain why, why, why.  It is just because I said so.  Children don't want to be in charge but they will try to get their way rather than do what you say.

You are getting too big for your britches!  Momma said that one.

The guy's name is John Rosemond and I agree with him most of the time.

I hope I can remember to bring all the treasures I have been saving up for you guys....do hope I remember to bring you a melon!

Birthday Party

Sigrid picked a wallet for her mother.  It was really nice.
Here are the 3 cards Laura's girls made for her big day.
Ingrid's says--
I am not saying you are old, but if you were milk and I started to pour you on my cereal, I would smell you before I even got started.

I made carrot cake and it was really good.  The girls made Reese's cup cakes with chocolate icing and peanut butter filling.
