Time Has Come

To enjoy the fruits of our labors and ahh the fruits are so sweet!

Summer Almost Over

Had enough tomatoes to make another jug of juice.
Picked a 5 gallon bucket of green beans.  Cooked a huge pot as they are good warmed up.
This morning saw deer in front yard.  They even check my trash to see if there was anything in there they wanted to eat.
Every 5 seconds they stop eating and listen.
Then they started up the side yard out of the front.  I went to the bathroom and took the photo below out the window.   It is through the screen.  They were within 10 feet of my house.  I threw the black granules around each of my watermelons or they would have stomped them all.  They never bother the corn which is weird to me.  Next year I am planting more corn.  I am not planting pinto beans as they love them.

Glowing

Astrid was 3rd overall in Russellville's Glo Run 5 K.  She was first girl.  She beat a lot of runners...old, young, girls, boys, men, women!  Swoosh!  Laura did good too.  She was in the upper 50 per cent.

Clayton's Here

Clayton is visiting with Sigrid.  Tomorrow they will be with me because Laura starts to school.  She is a new teacher and has to attend new teacher orientation tomorrow.  Eric took Sigrid and Clayton to Lake Dardanelle today.  They have a visitor center with lots of interesting stuff.  Here Siggie is holding a turtle.  Looks like Clayton is touching it too.
Above is Ingrid's volleyball group.   She will travel this year and is really a good volleyball player.  It is her favorite sport.  She's good at basketball too, but does not really like it.  I told her I would get to watch her play basketball this year and she yucked it!

Last Year

Last year I was making tomato juice.  I am going to take my smaller ones and make some I think.  I don't have as many as I did last year.

Tired of Green Beans

I am tired of fixing green beans.  The last ones I picked Larry fixed and I put them in the freezer.  I saw yesterday that I needed to pick again.  I told Laura I wasn't going to mess with them.

Well, I am a little "tight"....all my sisters know about it.  I went to Kroger Sunday morning to buy my week's groceries.  There a small sack of green beans were 5.99 cents!  They were small ones, but I thought "I have gold on those vines".  Today I picked them and snipped them and will cook them for tonight with lots of bacon grease.

And, if they make more I will get out there and pick them again!

Hold On

Still holding on..........

Noose For Helen

I cut a piece of paper the size of the bottom of the pot to get me going.  I used a yarn I had with the cotton cord.  Hope it works.

Cow Bell Wasp Nest

My Patsy cow bell had stopped clanging, then today it fell to the ground.  When I picked it up, red wasps attacked me. I got one sting on my hand and I have a hard time with wasp stings...but Sigrid was here and played nurse.  I kept ice on the sting for 3 hours and Siggie gave me two bendryl.  I was better in a few hours.  The wasps had the clanger surrounded and it would not move.  Larry took care of the nest with hornet spray.  I have rehung the bell and will be glad to hear it clang again.
I had two pretty doves eating the seeds off the ground that the black birds knocked out of my feeder.  I "coo" have watched them all day.
 Laura canned dill pickles....
and also salsa.  All looks tasty.

Pooped de Poop

Cut off corn again.  I am pooped.  Getting all the silks off is tiring.   I had about 10 bags of corn.
Helen, I have this cotton cord.  Don't know if it is enough.  Could you measure the diameter at the bottom, top and in the middle of the jug.  Also want to know how tall it is!  I am thinking I should crotchet a ring and then double crochet out from it and then chain the next round in long stings so it would fit different sizes....but I had a few measurements it would be more likely to work.
