A Few Nice Days

We had several nice days this week.  We got the garden all cleaned off.  I put that black fabric under the tomatoes and we had to get it all up.  Larry pulled the fence post and we took down the two support fences--one was for the tomatoes and the other for the pole beans.
Then Larry disked (is it disk or disked) the entire garden.  Someone has given him oak leaves and we plan to put them on the garden and then he will till them in.
It is drier than normal for this time of year.  We can tell by the water near our tractor shed.  I am trying to plan what I plant.  I am not planting early green peas.  I always plant them and don't want to pick and shell them.  I am planting red potatoes, green onions, and cabbage early; also, I will plant radishes and lettuce.
Larry took the tire off the tractor and took it to be fixed.  He was amazed at what they charged to do this chore.   His big compressor went out in the garage so he is watching the lists for a used one.  Larry enjoys hunting for the best buy and studying what he wants and getting the best price.  He says the secret is to offer what you feel is fair and if they don't except it walk away or on the computer just say "thanks".   He learned to get the best deal from Grandpa Renfroe.  Larry's favorite saying is "poor man has poor ways".  We live by it.

maybe it's disced. I sure do love you guys. A good sermon today -- about Jesus' crusifiction. And a good lesson in Sunday school out of Nehemiah.
