Merle

Merle Fredrickson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the age of 90. Born to Andrew and Ella Fedje on December 13, 1924, she was baptized and educated in North Dakota. She married James Christenson in April, 1946, who unexpectedly passed away in January, 1959.
In 1961 she was re-married to James Fredrickson. After their marriage they moved to Lincoln in 1968 where they raised their family. Merle was active in church activities and worked at Nebraska Wesleyan University and the Foster Care Review Board for the State of Nebraska where she was named state employee of the year before her retirement.
James Fredrickson passed away in February 1995. She is survived by her sister Karen (Orville) Anderson, Sugarland, Texas; children, Mark (Ellen) Christenson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Jerry Lee (Stephen) Jensen, Lincoln; Margo (Arthur) Dobberstein, Naples, Fla.; Jeffery Fredrickson, Lincoln; Jay Christenson, Lincoln; and Paul Fredrickson, Omaha.
Her grandchildren, Erik (Laura) Christenson, Pottsville, Ark.; Christopher (Joanna) Dobberstein, Hopkins, Minn.; Anne (Brian) Sorrels, Naples, Fla.; Alix Christenson, Salt Lake City, Allisia, Nicolas and Bianca Fredrickson, Omaha, and five great grandchildren. Merle will be missed by everyone whos lives she touched especially her family and her many dear friends.
Viewing will be 1-9 pm Friday (family will be present from 6:30-8 pm Friday) at Butherus, Maser and Love, 4040 A Street, Lincoln. Services will be Saturday at 2 pm at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 1200 S. 40th, Lincoln. Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery. Memorials suggested to the family for future designation.
