Bird in Galla Meadow

Well, I this might be the bird that I saw in the spring and wondered what it was.  It is so beautiful.  Sort of rusty red with speckles on the chest.
They like the grassy woodland edges but I do not know what it is.  I like it is some type of lark.  Patsy's gone and no one else will care.

Well, I care. I thought I recognized this pretty bird from when we lived in Georgia, but couldn't remember the name of it. Googled "common birds in Georgia," and Brown Thrasher was the first hit on the list. That was the name I couldn't think of, and I believe it's the one you're looking for. It's the state bird of Georgia.

It has the look of a mockingbird, but not quite. Is the mockingbird of the Thrasher family?
