Astrid is finding furniture at garage and junk sales and fixing it for her room. She had furniture bought for her at a furniture store, but she would rather have her own creation.
Sometimes the pictures taken with the phone become distorted when transferred to blogger. This is the case with the bottom picture, but what Laura is doing is adding a trim to the bottom of her curtains to make the room look taller. Also, just a change in scenery.
