Greg's Present To Erin
Greg made this bookcase for Erin's birthday. It is so nice. She says the books will all be organized by author, topic, or something. This is baggage she carries because she worked at the Library for over 10 years, well about that. You can ask her what number a certain subject would be in at the library and she can tell you. She has a great memory. I guess she can close her eyes and see the numbers or something. I can not even remember my own phone number!
I love the bookcase!

ALMOST....COMPLETE
Now, all I need is a new 5 by 7 of Greta and my shelf will be complete for 2012. These are my kids school photos and I love them all!
School days, School days
Good ole golden rule days.
Readin', writin' and arithmetic
No more days of a hickory stick!
I learned to spell arithmetic in the 2nd grade--age of Sigrid--by saying
A Red Indian Thought He Might Eat Tomatoes In Church! No one taught it to me....I made it up myself--well, I think I did but I am really old!
I also remember the Great Lakes by saying HOMES! Figure it out!

Life In The Slow Lane
Wow, now I don't have to get up and go to work everyday....I can go to the Tech Basketball games. We won tonight. I like the girls' team best, but will watch the boys too. This is my favorite player. She is Rosie Silva and is from Venezuela. Don't guess she gets to go home much.
Tomorrow at 4:00 a more important team plays--RMS Gales--Astrid plays and I can't wait. Also tomorrow I am taking Siggie her lunch. Her favorite is Arbys Roast Beef Sandwich, Curly Fries, and a Jamocha Shake.
This weekend we are having Thanksgiving at Church. I am going to take a pie (I am going to buy it at Conn Agra). Easy out! They have really good pies for $5.00. It is a store for the employees but others can buy stuff there.
OK--this is life in the SLOW lane! Have a good week sisters! Tomorrow is hump day for Fleta, but everyday is Saturday for me!

Making Headlines
Astrid's soccer team was pretty successful this season. They had their picture in the paper Sunday with a trophey they captured. She is back row 5th from left.

Working Toward Next Season
Astrid is already working toward being a better player next year. Her first basketball game is Wednesday.
She is tall but plays an outside role. Helps move the ball down the court and set the play. I hope she continues to improve and continues to love basketball. Larry and I plan to support the Golden Suns this year and attend their games. First one is this week. Have a great week, Sisters!

Siggie's Hat Trick
We went to Sigrid's musical today. It is nice to be able to attend the afternoon performance. Not many parents were there and you could see and hear. Oh course, Siggie was fabulous.
Growing Up
Greta went to the bathroom in her potty this morn. This may sound like a little thing but to a Momma it is a big step! Isn't she pretty! Her eyes look brown here, but I say they are blue.

Less Trees
In 1989, Momma came and stayed all night with us on Galla Creek. She said the trees were too close to the house. Now, 25 years later, we are heeding her advice. We had a bunch of trees took out last week very near the house. They had to bring a crane and start at the top of the trees and them move down. We will be able to have a little yard when we get more done. We are going to do some siding work next. But we are not in a hurry. We have forever!

Sigrid wanted to sew. She made this vest. She sewed it with a needle and thread on her fingers anf then Laura used the sewing machine and sewed the lining and top together. It really looks good. I told her about the year Momma made us each two dresses for school and I could remember her sitting in the yard at night working on them. I think the sewing machine had tore up because I recall her making them all by hand. Momma would be proud of Siggie's vest.
