Happy Halloween To Me

We are not modern folks!  We still enjoy our Bunn coffee pot.  After Larry redid the cabinets, the counter was about an inch higher than before.  The Bunn would not go under the cabinet.  It had to sit out in an awkward fashion.  I had a small short table beside the cabinet for a while, but since it was not cabinet height it looked messy.  Larry wanted to start making his wood crafts again and he asked what I wanted and I asked for a small table for the Bunn about as tall as the cabinet counter.
Well, he finished it today.  It is pine and cedar.  He put a small drawer for me to keep the coffee filters and instant hot drinks inside!    Next, is a bedside table for Sig.  I can say that here as the Grands do not blog visit!

Glad I am not at school today~

When I taught school, I prayed Halloween would fall on the weekend!  The children are so excited!   Well, the day will be over and history.  Laura dressed as Mrs. Frizzle of the Magic School Bus.  She nailed it.  One year Sister Helen sent me a picture of her as a lamp table.  I tried to find it on my blog but can't.  It was the best costume ever.
Laura makes a perfect Mrs. Frizzle!  Below you are photos of her Dad and Mom!
Greta is too sweet to be a witch!
I would be able to tell Clayton anywhere---by his big feet!

To Work Again

Hannah has a new bed.  It looks great with her newly painted walls.

Fleta went back to work today.  I hope it went okay.  Helen had Gilbert working away at Fleta's house today.  She is the foreman!  Gilbert is the worker!

Clayton's Art

 I think Clayton is talented.

We All Turn Into Our Mothers?

Sisters, I found these photos of a lady from our past!  I think she has turned into her mother.

Siggie, Too!

Laura put her photos on Sfly.  I liked these too!  Sigrid and her sister and I think Logan is saying, "you are choking me!"

More Dance Memories

I hope Ingrid's evening was perfect!
Astrid had to fix Logan's bow tie.  Oh, she went to the Dance in a pickup truck!

Astrid Dancing, Too

This is Astrid and Logan.  They look nice together.  Below is her friend, M K and her date.
Here are two of Astrid's buds--M K and Maddie.  Maddie runs cross country with Astrid.

Stepping Out--Gone Dancing

Ingrid is awfully pretty.  Sigrid said her dress was gray, but it looks light blue to me.

Dribble, Dribble

Greta had her first basketball game.  She is number 0 in blue.  Yelp, she loved it.  She loves everything.

Ingrid and Astrid are going to a dance tonight.  Siggie is attending an Halloween party.  Ingie's feller is picking her up in a limo!

Greta Little Grouch!

Greta's teacher is go good to post pictures of her first graders on fb and I get to see my Sweetie!  She had 4 cupcakes left so Erin said this morn she and Clayton could have 2 apiece after school.  Greta threw a royal fit complete with stomping and yelling as it was HER birthday and she should get to eat all 4!  Greg observed it all and told Erin--"she definitely takes that stomping and yelling from you!"

I notice that Greta is often in the center of the picture!  You can tell it was camo day!

Guitar Girl!

Greta wanted a guitar for her birthday and she got her wish!  Tonight she has a soccer camp.  Then she is playing basketball this fall too!   Oh, plus gymnastics!   Erin is busy hauling her from place to place.
This is Kurt Gatlin playing basketball.  Jonell said he scored 14 points.  Cotton Powell was friends with his great Grandfather and they played basketball together!

Sisters Fault

I have not been posting as much AND it is all Helen and Fleta's fault.  You see if I post once a week I am way ahead of them.

Sigrid had this picture on I-gram.  She is growing up.  I want to yell, "wait, wait".

Clayton made up a joke--
Why did the fart cross the road?
Answer will be in comments.

Larry made me a table for my coffee pot.  So nice.  I will have to show you.

Phineas keeps me busy.  Another excuse for not posting.  But.....I will try to do better!

Astrid takes after her Pop.  She has been selling stuff on Pope County Swap.  She loves it just like he does!

Between Them

I read this book this week.  Richard Ford's father was Parker Ford from Atkins, AR.  Parker and my friend, Joann's mother, were brother and sister.  Joann died of lymphoma over 10 years ago, but I recall that she was so proud when Richard won the Pulitzer Price.  I tried to read the book that brought him the award to no avail, but I enjoyed the this book about his parents.  Joann's Dad (Richard's Uncle) owned a pharmacy in Atkins.  Richard had little good to say of him which made me chuckle.  Below I found these old pictures of Joann working in her father's Drug Store.

Ingrid's Sugar Cookies

Ingrid's favorite cookie is sugar.  This is her recipe.  I asked it she rolled them out and she said "oh, yes".    I wonder if one could make half a batch?
1 cup and scant half cup of flour
1/2 t baking soda
1/4 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
1 stick of real butter, softened
3/4 c of sugar (I am going to try a half)
1 egg (a bantie egg it will have to be as I can't half an egg very well
1 t vanilla
1/4 cup of sugar for rolling out
preheat oven to 350 degrees
line cookie sheet with parchment paper
mix flour etc set aside
mix sugar, butter, egg and vanilla
mix this with flour, make into balls, roll in sugar
bake 8 to 10 minutes, cool and enjoy
