Miss A Lane E Us!!

Or Miscellaneous!  It is grade report time.  Greta and Clayton got good reports.  They don't get letter grades yet.  The three Christensen girls made all A's.    Can't do any better than that.  Braggin' again, I know!
I think Greta likes the afghan I made her!
The above was posted at the dentist office bulletin board.
Greta and Clayton liked camping.  They stayed two nights.
Sigrid says--Papa--I admire my grandpa (Papa) because he is the nicest person in the world.  He helps people.  He can build anything.  He says I am beautiful.  He makes me happy.  He lets me play with all eleven of his dogs.  he buys me anything.  I love him.

Greta's Big Blast

There was once a little girl with green eyes
Who grew 'til she was four in size
We went to her city
'Cause she is so pretty
And brought a birthday surprise.

Visiting An Old Friend

We drove up to Spadra today.  Larry went fising with Kenny and Jonell and I sat and gabbed.  I learned about a lot of the people I went to school with.  Sad--several dead--Brenda Gibbs!
Kenny cleaned the fish and we brought 'em home.  Was going to cook a mess, but found my dear friend Syble lost her son and we are going to the visitation.
Jonell taking pictures of Larry and Kenny.

Larry bought a skidsteer to clean up the mess at our other house.  I can't wait to get started.  This is small and can fit in small places.  He must be careful as it will tip over if you don't watch what you are doing.

Jonell and Kenny have a new travel home.  He works part of the year and Jonell goes along to pamper him when he is home.  I was pleased to visit with two folks who still love and care for one another.  Both are kind, gentle hearts.

Greta is Progressing

This is a note from Greta's Speech teacher.  She has mastered the F sound so she can say "friend Fleta" correctly I suppose.  Both Greta and Clayton like school this year and that makes for a happier family.

Scarf For Greta

Greta's birthday gifts on Grandma Powell's quilt.  Grandma made this quilt before she made the one Fleta has I think.  Probably for Winnie when she was about 10 or 12...just guessing.

Thanks for Winnie sharing these heirlooms with Fleta, Helen, and I.  She is very selfless!

Volleyball

Volleyball ends next weekend.    This was appreciation night.

Ingrid's Essay For English Class

My Dad's hair is lost.   It took a walk off his head and never came back.  My little sister's hair is like a gumball in a machine, you never know what you are going to get.  Each day a new mess is resting on her head.  My mother's flames a top her head.   Hairs lash out in different directions creating a madness of red.  My older sister has passionate hair that blazes like a summer sun.  My hair is silk, spun sugar, and candy. Soft and sweet it flies!  Ingrid

On the Road

Erin and Greg had a ski boat.  They traded it in on this motor home.  Erin would like to visit many of the National Parks.

Birthday Trip

Greta's family took a weekend trip to celebrate her birthday.  Good thing the water park is inside as it was rainy and cold outside.

Home Again

My mums are pretty.  The two ferns I bought in May are really full and pretty but the cold will kill them.  It is just too much trouble to try and keep them until next year.  They make a big mess in the house.

I am a tight wad I know, but I wanted Clayton's stone to be similar to Richard's and I am glad they fixed it.  I like it much better on the pedestal.

Green Forest 1927

I wish Patsy would tell us about what she remembers Dad telling about this tornado.  I know the chicken house was blown off the foundation.  I recall that Daddy said they left the house and took refuge in a ditch.  Was their house destroyed and they stayed in the chicken house?  Sisters...what to you remember.  Winnie Jo what do you know about this 1927 disaster?

Meadow Mowed

40 bales of hay...they hauled it away today.  The Meadow looks so clean and smells good, too.

Greta's Afghan

Greta will be 4 October 26.  I finished her afghan.  I bought a little green eyed doll and have made a blanket and hat.  Larry rigged up the dolly bed.  I had enough variegated yarn to make Greta winter toboggan.

Hugh, Virgil---and Larry

I discovered this last year and have never shared it here but....
Virgil Morris is the son of Hugh Morris, Hugh the son of Regain Morris, Regain is the son of John Morris and Celia Margaret Standridge.  Larry's Granny was Ada Standridge.  Margaret and Ada go back to the same Standridge family making Larry and the Morris family who were our neighbors cousins.  Small world indeed.

Volleyball Win

Astrid's volleyball team won the Morrilton tournament yesterday.  Go Whirlwinds!
