A Little Rain Must Fall

Well, a lot of rain has pelted Galla Meadow, but I think even more drenched Douglas Road.  Sister Helen has hopes that this will continue until July!
Above, Sig is partying with some of her friends.  I bet it was someone's birthday party.  Below Greta tried on the things Laura and I bought for her when we went to Conway--either from Target or Old Navy.  I forget which.  I am wondering if Clayton's stuff fit.  Of course, he has not tried it on.

Erin's month for Children's Church is April.  They did not have church today so Erin did not have to teach.  I know she is soooooooooo sad.  She said there is no school tomorrow at Harrison.  Some of the city is without electricity.

I am not sure what Ingrid and her friend are doing...but sure looks like some kind of drama!

One of Laura's friends took her son to the ice cream shop and met Astrid.  Astrid posed with her son.  She may have a babysitting job added to her list.

Exchanging Flowers

Stumped

Larry dug up one of the stumps from one of the trees that blew down.   Half this tree was dead anyway.  I sat on the porch and watched as he used his stump digger on the Kubota.   His new Kubota has a quick attach.  He can change equipment without getting off the tractor.  He has forks, this stump digger and a bucket.

And...after he smoothed it all out and added a little top soil.

Conference Champs

The Cyclones are Conference Champs of the 6 A West Region.  It is a REPEAT as they won it last year too.  I think the top photo is of Astrid and the distance runners and below the entire team.  You will always find Astrid in the back not trying to dominate the picture--always humble!
Look at Astrid smiling in the 4 by 800 relay.  In case you don't know, each of the 4 run a half mile!  They took first place!

M K and Astrid with the trophy.  M K puts the shot!  Astrid and M K have been friends since 7th grade.
Here is Asti with her friend, Tamara.  Tamara runs the short races--called dashes!
Astrid is fixing to take this girl in the mile.  I see her determined look.  I know she did pass her as Astrid ran first in the mile!
Astrid is cheering on a teammate--Maddy!  I am not sure if it is in the mile or 800 relay but she is encouraging others here as she always does.

Visitors Stopped By--Stayed Overnight

Such graceful guests as these two are a joy to have stay in Galla Meadow a few days.
I hope they stay a little longer as I love watching them glide over the pond.

We have most of the mess cleaned up from the storm and another is coming this weekend.
This Iris is soft lavender.   Much prettier than my picture.

She Ran....

Astrid won the mile at conference.  What a happy day for her and all that adore her!!

Back In Business

Erin is getting everything arranged in the Rogers House.  They have been sleeping there a few nights.  She got a new couch from Breashears at Berryville.  It is really nice.  Below I recognize the quilt box Grandpa Gaddy made for Grandma.  I love it.
We had a bad storm more trees down and no phone or internet for 2 days.

I think this Blue Bird is waiting for the mail to arrive.
Greta has a big closet.  She is going to love it.
Here is Ingie and her friend, Avery.  Those are pallets decorating Avery's room.

Moving Day

Greta did not have school today.  Clayton had to go.  Greta told me she would be working.  Today her family started moving into the house on Rogers Avenue.    She has her afghan on her new bed.  I think Erin bought the bed at a second hand store.  Ingrid is using Dad's old iron bed which looks a lot like the foot board on Greta's.
I love the color Clayton picked for his room.  The green looks very "boy" like.
We have been working tearing out dog kennels we spent 1000's of dollars building.  There have been times that we have had 25 Feist dogs.  We now have only 4 and don't plan to raise anymore.  We are sort of thinking of getting a Corgi male so Astrid can raise some pups.

There is nothing better than an old Mt. Mountain Feist dog though.  See what Cora has her eye on and he coiled up to strike her.
Larry got off the back hoe and got the grubbing hoe and "bam"  Cora started shaking that snake.  It was soon over and Cora was the winner!

I think it WAS what we call a Rat snake.

Good Company Today

Clayton and Greta came today.  Sigrid made cupcakes.  They are coconut with chocolate icing.  They were really good.
Greta brought the game that she got in her Easter basket.  Pop, Sig and she played. You have to pull out the sticks without making marbles fall.  The winner has the least marbles.

Clayton loves our dog, Cora Beth.
Swinging in an old fashioned rope swing is always fun!  I love the way Greta has her hand on her hip.
