Movies Today

One old lady and the little women went to the movies again!  Guess what we watched.  I cried several times.  You can’t hold back the tide really hit home and it will ebb no matter what you do.

Selfless

Momma taught me to be faithful, to be selfless, and to touch people in a positive way.

Amy-Patsy made Laura ear muffs.  Aren’t they nice?

Favorites

Laura took a selfie of her and Amy-Patsy.  Amy sent us tamale pie and it was really delicious.  It’s nice to be remembered.  Most of the food I fix is not very good.

Sigrid is doing great in school and with the swim team.  Her best swimming events are the 200 and 500 meters (I think).  May be yards.  Any way they are long races.  She also swims on a relay or two. Swim practice is 3 hours a day...lot of exercise daily.

Together Again

Have you ever noticed how different the individual members of the same family can be? In some cases they look nothing like each other or even their parents. Yet we share a bond stronger than our differences.

Momma is the Best

Erin fixed donuts for the Jones’ breakfast.  Wish I were there.

Yes, she Can

Greta played basketball in Hollister today.  Erin said her defense was great.  Greta is only a 3rd grader and is a good dribbler, shooter, passer—but defense is her thing.  Rebound and block out!

The Graduate

Baby brother’s daughter, Julie Ann, graduated from ATU today.  Three sisters and father of the grad cheered her on.  Was so nice to have we four siblings together.  Laura fixed us a nice lunch after the graduation.  It was a special day.

Oh, Christmas Tree

Me and our Christmas tree and new tv that Sister Patsy brought for us 1958.
Astrid's tree--really pretty like everything she does.
Laura's tree--full of special ornaments!
Helen's tree--she had brother Gilbert cut her a real tree.  It will be a real needle mess and she better watch out those lights may catch it on fire.
Helen with her dolly Patsy bought her in 1958. We were so proud of the tv.  Looks like our tree only got decorated with icicles.

Ready for Cold Weather

My Harrison bunch is ready for cold weather.  I made Ada's hat and it is way too small.  She looks like a little doll.  She is holding on to Clayton.  Ada hardly ever cries as she has not only Mom and Dad to help with her care.  Her brother and sister are at her call, also.

Special Ornaments

Laura and her girls painted special ornaments for the Christmas tree.  Each year they add new ornaments.  Astrid painted the reindeer, Ingrid the snowman, Sigrid the star and Laura Santa.

These are egg ornaments my Aunt Betty sent me in 1974.  Laura still uses them on her tree.  They are the same age as she is.  She wraps them up carefully each year and hopes they will continue to survive.

Happy Birthday, Ingrid

Ingrid is 18.  Whew, doesn’t seem possible.  She has matured a lot this last year making us so proud of her. She is smart and has a vision to follow.  She is getting there.  Her own path not the well worn one.  Happy Birthday, Ingie Bean.

How many ancestors do I have?

Wow, too many.  Laura, Astrid, Ingrid, Sigrid, and Larry and my ethnicity show how we are all unique.  We six share much DNA but are all different too!  When I saw how we were all different and similar, I thought about snow flakes and how each is a one and only.  God made us special--all different but very much the same.

A Visit With My Cousin

I took the things I made to my sweet cousin and in return she sent homemade canned soup, pepper sauce, squash preserves, huge bag of black walnuts she picked out for me, but most precisous was the two jars of purple hull pea jelly.  I can't wait to try it.  Irene is only 4'10" but I believe the dress I found for her is going to fit.  I am on the look out now for a new pair of shoes to wear to church.  Her foot is small but wide because of the fluid.  I will say--I love her a lot.
