Sunny Day

I have been letting the chickens out during the day.  I only have 2 big hens and a few banties.
Larry crafted me two more Blue Bird houses.  I put them toward the open field.  I hope they like them.  They start building in late February or early March and may raise 3 times a year.
I walked here about 2 miles, but I stopped over at Astrid's house and let Phoebe out a while and gave her a snack.

Jonquils are sprouting up.  Spring is coming.

Special Gift

Amy-Patsy's Mom made this for Laura.  The blocks are art work her (and MY) girls did while at Sequoyah Elementary.  It is a treasure!

It is supposed to be warm again today.  Hip hip hooray!  I will try to walk again.  Hopefully, my leg will be better soon.  I did get a Doctor to take me as a patient.  I have an appointment March 17th, but if my leg does not improve I can call and go in and get worked in.

Erin says if a Doctor takes 50 Medicare patients, after he hits 51 he has to take 100.  She said she was not sure of the increments, but it works like that.  Well, it did not take him long to accept me as I called yesterday and they called back this morning early.  I hope I like him or all is in vain....or vein! ha.

Helen's Herd

Helen's Herd
Well, Helen asked about enlarging a photo, but I told her that does not work.  Hours later I realized she wanted to crop it and zoom in.

Here are her deer from this morning.  Now I think I count 15.

January Ending

Astrid at one of the waterfalls she visited this year.
Pop made the girls a cross.  Astrid has put hers on her wall and below he made this frame.  The photo Astrid chose was one from Utah!

 Sigrid is playing volleyball.

Ingrid is playing volleyball too.  She is lucky number 7.  I love the block in this picture.
She is ready for the serve.
Here she is ready to hit.

Number 7 in her green uniform.

Lazy Day

We finished another puzzle yesterday.  We have several more to put together.  Astrid brought Phoebe by to see us.  She will already sit and bark on command.  One smart little Corgi.
It was nice to have visitors.

Erin said the house is ready to paint.  She is just painting walls and trim white.  Greg has had to redo several things.  I will be happy for when they finally get to move in.  Won't be too long now.

Lavish Style

Astrid decided that she should wear a dress from the Boutique!!  Makes such sense.  The owner took a chance on her and gave Astrid her first "real" job.  The dress was just over $20.00 as she gets a discount.  I can post the dress here as no one but my family will see it.  She said she will dress it up with neat shoes.  I think it is perfect.  The pants suit she is wearing has red pants and a black top.  I think she got it at Cato's.

Astrid had several customers when I stopped by today.  She, also, had Phoebe there to keep her company so I got on out of there.

Astrid In Court

This is Astrid and Sigrid dressed for some special day at school.  Astrid is someone from Sponge Bob, but I am out of that loop so I don't know who.

Astrid is one of the Juniors representing her High School in Homecoming this next week.  Laura is busy this weekend and Astrid will need two outfits.  She said "oh, there is a little dress at TJMax".  It costs about twenty bucks.  That is the way Astrid is.  Sigrid is going with her to pick out a dress and some shoes and jewelry.  She has a pants suit she said she would wear for the other outfit.    I can't wait to see her all dressed up this week.  The girls were allowed to choose their escort and Astrid chose the boy who videos the games.  I know he was wowed!  Such a special little girl.  Ingrid, Sigrid, Clayton and Greta are all special to me, also.  It is a granny thing!

Just checking

I am seeing if I can post from IPad.   So looks like maybe I can if I do not try to add a picture.

I have been cold all day.   I went to the grocery store for milk.  I got all the things I had downloaded to get free:   Mac and cheese, retried beans, power bar, and tortilla chips.   All free.   Then I bought 6 items to get $3.00 off.  You have to make sure you have correc items.  Pick up one wrong item and no discount.   This is Kroger and it is my favorite grocery store;  but you need to have a cpa to shop there.  So, I went for milk and spent $23.00.   Now, that was a real bargain.

I have been reading.   I enjoyed King Henry the 8ths Will.   The author thought that he was a Protestant by the time of his demise as he appointed evangelicals to over see the rule of his young son.

I got the new bill o'Reilly book about iwo today.   Also, several others.

Well, when Helen had not posted by noon today, I though I might have to call tony up and report her but she came through finally.

Weekend is here for all those who still work for a living and for those of us who don't!

Consequences

All day I have been thinking "sow the wind, reap the whirlwind".   There are consequences to all we do.   I pray that I can think before I act and pray about all things that I should do.  Lord, lead me in your light.

It is cold but sunny so not totally a bad day.  I love the feel of the sun.

This picture is of my Aunt Helen's Grandmother.  Her name was Wilhelminia Sophia Johanna Willert.

BIRTH 26 MARCH 1863 • Germany
DEATH 6 JULY 1953 • Russellville, Pope County, Arkansas, USA

Aunt Helen and Uncle Walter live on the farm that she and her husband homesteaded.  This picture is hanging in their home.  When I go to get my hair cut, I try to visit Aunt and Uncle as it is only half a mile down the road.  I took pictures of pictures yesterday.  Some turned out pretty good and others blurry so I will try it again.  Minnie was only 7 years old when she came to America.  She came from Mecklinburg in Germany.  Aunt Helen said she was 18 when the picture below was made.

Tony told Sister Helen to post everyday.   I wondered what was up.   Glad Tony jabbed her in the rear!  ha!  I do enjoy hearing about the "red dirt road" and I know Sister Fleta is exhausted from work and wear so it is nice to hear from Sister Four.

Patsy would be glad that her sons are reaping the reward of her paying on that acreage in Missouri for all those years.  She would be smiling.

Hope your day is good.

100th of School

For the 100th day of school, Greta got to dress up as a hundred year old woman and Clayton wrote about what he would have done when he reached 100.  Today is Momma's birthday, she would not be 100, only 96!
Here is the picture that was in the Blevins' Cedar Chest Collection.  How surprised I was when I spotted the photo.  What a gift, seeing my Mother in a photo that I had never seen until I was 66 years old.  I think Momma had bobby pinned her hair to try to make it curl.  Happy Birthday, Momma.  Helen is making a cake in your old kitchen which your son remodeled so that you would not recognize it.  Oh, you can't reach the counter top as he built it for a 6 foot tall man!  Helen keeps your house clean and has a block to stand on in there so she can cook!

Putting It All Together

Pop put together the 4 puzzles of the Farmalls we purchased a few years back.  This is one of the new ones I bought from Amazon.  It is not an easy puzzle, but he completed it.  He is working on one of the John Deere ones now.
Found these in a folder when i was looking for another photo.  Notice Astrid and Ingrid above.  Ingrid dressed to perform and Astrid in cowboy boots (red) and holding a leaf she has discovered.  Children are different and I like it that way.
The same day Pop and Sig are swinging on the front porch.   I am sure he has told her a bunch of lies of which--I love is not one!

Rains Came Down

Ingrid in glasses.  I think they are just clear class.  They do give her a smarty look.

Really had a lot of rain.  Everything is washed now.  Earth had a good bath.

Dribble and Shoot

Clayton is playing basketball in the Church League at Harrison.  He is not out going and it is hard for him.  He does like basketball, but not in front of a bunch of yelling people.
I bet Erin is having trouble keeping up with Greta during Clayton's game.  I had trouble with her when Laura played.  Erin would team up with a wild bunch and wreck havoc under the bleachers.  She would find a thousand excuses to go to the water fountain.  Maybe Greta is giving her pay back!
Sigrid is playing volleyball in Conway today and Astrid is playing soccer in Little Rock.

On The Beatin' Path

I drove to the trail today and walked 3 plus miles.  This is a good amount for me as I have only been making it a mile or two but sometimes just to the mail box and back which is only a half.  I weigh a lot, but the bridge did not fall in under me.
It was a beautiful day.  I was able to stroll without even a jacket!
The port a potty is at the one mile mark.  I really detest them, but I must confess I have used this facility in the past....better than peeing my pants.
Astrid and little Phoebe!  Two cuties.

New Do

Astrid got her hair foiled and cut.  I really like it.
Greta has a friend named Isaac.
Helen has a place to hang her hat and her bird feeders.   Now if she can only find the chained one.  I like the horseshoes.  This is a Greg Aday Design!

In My Own Back Yard

Turkeys came to my yard this morning.  There were lots of them but when I tried to step out on the porch to "snap" them they flew away quickly.   I hope they keep coming back to see me.

Larry made Erin and Laura a cedar cross and is making 3 smaller ones for the neighborhood girls!
I recycle the shaving from the planer to the chicken pen and chicken nests.  It smaells good and discourages insects.
I walked over and checked on little Phoebe.  She is in a large crate on the back deck and Fregie is with her.  I let them both out in the yard a while.  Both dogs seem to like each other.  Phoebe is a looker.  I walked about 2 miles.  I don't have to pick up Ingie today so I may walk back over and check on Phoebe again later.
