Surging Ahead

Sister Helen purchased a serger. The three huge spools of thread frightens me.  How did she ever get it threaded!  She is liking how it works!

Well, I could not use a machine like this as I can’t even spell the word—serger!

Lexi’s Prom Dress

Lexi (Sister Helen’s Granddaughter) enjoyed her first prom.  Her school doesn’t allow strapless gowns.  This is her mother’s prom dress. I guess 20 odd years old.  Granny Helen cut the cape and made cap sleeves.  It is so pretty.
Lexi had nails to match.
Mom Kimberley in same dress.
Photo shopped together!

Bee Please

Never too old to learn new things.  I had a peek into the bee hive today.  Brenda Holmes gave lesson 101.  I passed๐Ÿ. Well, I did not get stung! Bees reminded me of a few classes I’ve been in charge of at school. Ones where some kids had issues.  Move slow, don’t upset anyone, stay calm.  They smell fear just like children do.  Be friends!  Whew, glad that’s over and no bees flew up my pants leg๐Ÿ❤️๐Ÿ

My war with the squirrels has started.  This one has a new home with lots of oak trees—a graveyard across Galla Lake from me.  I don’t hate squirrels but I am feeding birds not squirrels.

Catalpa tree is full of blooms!  Petals are creating a pretty carpet.  A squirrel hunter from Georgia gave Larry this tree. It is a good source of fishing bait!

This is where I spotted Foxy this morning.  He knocked the feeder to the ground.  I am thankful it didn’t break.

New Neighbor

I have a new friend.  His name is Whiskey and he’s a palomino paint.  He’s thin but Galla Meadow will fatten him up.  He’s older and very tame and calm.  Perfect pal for Manchi.

Merle has a new home.  She needed to be trained.  Her new owners are both ferriers and are perfect for her.   She loves all the other horses.

Nuttall’s Briar

Black eyed Susan’s are blooming!

I saw a few new blooms this morning—the wild petunia and Nuttall’s Sensitive Briar.  The briar of the mimosa family.  The leaves and blooms are very much like those on a mimosa tree.  I recall being fascinated by the leaves when a kid growing up at Coin, AR.  They’re sensitive.  If you touch them they close up!  The petunia is very fragile.  Blooms only last a day.

Ingrid’s Degree’d

Ingrid Elizabeth graduated and we celebrated afterwards.

Ingrid Elizabeth earned a Bachelors of Science in Nuclear Medicine with a minor in Psychology ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผ‍๐ŸŽ“ from ATU.  She still has a month more at Baptist HEALTH but she’s almost there.  The top of her hat said it best—This Barbie is a College Grad๐Ÿ’—

Next month on June 25th Justin and Ingrid are getting married!
Top of Ingie’s hat!
I like the speech given by Dr. Jones.  He advised the graduates to be grateful, be kind, and be humble!  What great advice.

Well, I have viewed a total eclipse of the sun and the Northern Lights right here in Galla Meadow.  Both were totally spectacular.

Taking Flight

Many of my pretty birds will be gone soon. I've surely enjoyed them this year!

Buntings might stay all summer.  I am hopeful.

The Grosbecks will be gone soon.  I’ve had more of them than ever before
The Orioles may have already flown on. I did not see one today.
