Easter Bunny

left bunnies for Clayton and Greta!

3 Neighbors Ready for Church

We worshiped with our neighbors today.  They sure looked spiffy.

Good Easter Day!

Erin, Greg, Clayton and Greta came and went to Church with all of us.  Sigrid was part of a little play.  Greta really looked sweet.  Dinner was good, especially Laura's rolls and broccoli salad.  I made Sigrid a birthday cake.  The kids had an egg hunt, but I was cleaning the food off the table and did not get shots of it. I hope all of you had a good day with family.

Sigrid Says Party Time

Sigrid and her bird bath that we got her for her birthday.  It is made of cast iron.
Here is one of the shorts outfits she got with Aunt Patsy's birthday money.  There are shoes to match but i did not get them in the photo.
Ingrid got this dress and a shorts outfit with the spending money Pop gave her when she went shopping in Conway.
Astrid got one pair of athletic pants with her money.  Next week Astrid will be 13!  I can't believe 13 years has passed since she was born!  She is a tall, pretty young lady.
Another Patsy outfit...it says splash and has shoes to match.
Siggie's Sunday school teacher gave her money too and she got this pjs.
New shoes.  Sigrid does not like flip flops and she wears these slip on shoes. They're called Toms.
Sigrid wanted cookies for her cake and Pop had to hold the candles so she could blow out 8.

Another Patsy outfit...says Tom and Jerry!

Sigrid is 8 and is Great!

March 30, 2005

I posted the photos in the purple link the day Sigrid was born.
She is a joyful friend to her Pop and Gigi!!

Holding With Tradition

Astrid got 4th in her mile run and half mile.  She was the first younger girl.  This is Clayton and Greta's other Grandmother.  She is the best.  She is there for them and they stay overnight with her sometimes once a week.  If they need to go to the Dr., she will take them.  When Clayton started to nursery school, she  stayed most of the day and watched what went on there...he changed to another school.  Greta and she look a lot alike.  Erin said they would come Easter.  We are having ham and it is Smithfield.  I got it at Kroger.  In June Clayton will be 5 years old and in the fall he will start to kindergarden.

Galla House

They are almost finished with the Galla house.  We have new windows and siding and shutters.  Before the shutters were green and the trim was a cream color.   We have all the limbs from the big trees to pile and burn.   It looks different.

Tomorrow

We have a track meet tomorrow.  I worked in the garden today.  Siggie got a birthday gift from Aunt Patsy.

I want to keep more grass out of my garden and I want to keep the deer out of it too.  Both will be a chore. I have that stinking stuff you get at the coop to put around the edge, plus I plan on turning 2 or 3 pups loose at night.  I think I will leave the pups up until about 4 or 5 or 6 and then let them out for the night.  We have 3 pups that are not a year old, but about 9 or 10 months.

New Bird At Pond

I think it is a crane or loon.  Sort of ugly but I zoomed in from the back door as it walked near the pond.

Fish

The big guy in the black hat is Coach Fish.  Astrid in on the track.  He is sending her to the Jr. High track meet Thrusday.  She will be running against girls older than she is.  Hope she does well.  Fish has a birthday April 4th and I think he will be 46 or 47.  He is a big guy with a big heart.

Greta Wants To Run Like Astrid

Greta has a strong finish!

Kick it!

Astrid had soccer this weekend against Conway.  Her team won and she scored several points.  Soccer is her favorite sport.  Fish texted me that the track meet tomorrow was cancelled and I am glad. It would be horrible running the mile and half mile in this weather.    Eric said at the soccer game he heard the opposing Coach yell at his girls to stop number seven!  He said don't even let the ball get to her side of the field.  Go Astrid!  Kick it!
The little girl with the pink sleeves was told to stick like glue to Astrid, but you can see it did not work as Astrid drove right by her and scored!  Kick it, Astrid, kick it!

Last year

These photos are from March last.   Looks warmer then.

Shopping In The Attic

Siggie gets new clothes each season and she just shops in the attic.  She is not one who likes to go that much so shopping at home is fine with her. I have never heard her complain about wearing hand me downs.  She just likes a few outfits and will wear them over and over.  Here she is showing off 2 new outfits for spring and the pile in the floor are ones she is purchasing from the attic store!

Nasty Weather

Top is Erin's at Harrison and bottom is here! Yuck!

Where, oh, where is spring
Why all the ice and rain
No sun and flowers blooming
Just dark clouds looming?

Happy Birthday, Greg!

Erin made Greg this oreo ice cream cake for his 33rd birthday.  Oh, it really looks good.  I made a coconut pie and a peanut butter pie to celebrate my 3 girls coming home. Ingrid wanted coconut and Astrid wanted peanut butter.  Sigrid wanted neither so I fixed her mac and cheese, her favorite.

Who Me?

Well, Brenda Powell had this on facebook and I am wondering if she is talking about Fleta or Helen...as I am sure it's not Clayton, Patsy or me.

Elk in Boxley Valley

We went to Boxley Valley today to see the elk.  They were lounging in Boxley Valley.  Shooting one of these would be like shooting a cow as they acted very tame.

Cub Rolling To New Home

Larry bought this cub up in Washington County, seems like.  He rebuilt the carburetor.  It really ran good, but now he can look for another one to buy and he loves looking for them.  These are not expensive tractors as they are small, really just for gardening.  I am posting this video for Fleta as she loves to watch the videos.  Kenny is riding the tractor and loading it for his 82 year old dad.  Loyd's mom was Bessie Gregory.   Bess was the daughter of Samuel Albert, Sam the son of George Washington, George the son of Mary Gaddy.  Now I am the daughter of Hazel, the daughter of Huston, the son of Solan who is the son of George Ellis.  Loyd and I are each 4 generations from Samuel Gaddy, Geo. and Mary's father.  Fleta could tell you what cousin we are but I don't know.  Well, Flet, here is your video!

What We Are Up To

Larry sold a Cub today to this man--Loyd Freeman.  Larry really did not want to part with one, but Mr. Freeman is 82 and his wife died and he wants to make a garden like he used to.  Mr. Freeman's great great great great grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Gaddy, George Ellis' sister.  So we were some kind of cousins.   Larry sold him cultivators because you have to have them to plow a garden.
Larry used the disk on all the gardens the other day.
Cora treed a squirrel this afternoon down by the pond.  We did not shoot it as we hardly have any squirrels.
These two plants were given to me by old ladies when Larry went to their house to check out Cub tractors. The pansy looking flower I got a week ago up hiway 7 above Dover.

Fleta gave me this and it is mint I think I noticed it is holding on.
I am about to decide to just quit feeding my birds as you can see what has happened and I am not Warren Buffett.
