A Little Slow These Days

Took Siggie her lunch to school on her birthday.  She is eating with a friend.  Last name Jones.
Erin's irises are so pretty.  An old saying is--never thank someone who gives you flowers as it will kill them and it's best to steal the flowers.  Stolen ones grow the best!  I learned this today from a lady who was getting a hair cut before me.  I feel better when I get my hair cut, but usually I look about the same!~
Astrid made this picture for Sigrid for her birthday.  It says--
Be a pineapple
Stand tall
Wear a crown
and be sweet on the inside!
Sigrid wanted a big cookie for her birthday and Laura made this one.  It was tasty--chocolate chip!
My potatoes are coming up and my cabbage is growing.
Onions are almost ready to enjoy.
I call these wild violets and am wondering if I could dig them up and put them in a pot for the summer?
The lady that cut my hair gave me some flowers to set out in one of my flower beds.  They bloom in October and are called Swamp Daisies.  We will see if I can grow them.  I plan to set them out tomorrow as it was a little wet today.
They remind me more of a sunflower.  I have Jonquils in the bed where I am putting them and once they die the bed is bare.  I hope I can get these going.

Sigrid's Eleven!

Sigrid is eleven today.  I am heading out to take her lunch!  I hope she has a great day.  My new Patsy's mom crafted this bunny for her.  I know she loves it!

Mansion Over The MT.

Mansion for the little chicks that is.  My new Patsy's husband bought her about 30 grown hens and then these little chicks.  One thing leads to another....you have to have house for the new families.  Isn't it grand.  My old Patsy would love it.  I recall her "dog pen" chicken coops and terror with the neighborhood "bully" dogs when she tried to let the Guineas run loose.
 Fit for any feathered friend!

Cousins at play.  Sigrid is always so good to come over and play with her two cousin friends.  They adore her.  They rode bikes, played hide and so seek, duck, duck goose, and lots of other fun games.

Pop bought me a electric pressure cooker.  I think I am going to like it but you need intelligence to use it and I have little of that.
I know Worthy Powell worked on this railroad.  I don't know if Grandpa and Uncle Jesse did or not.  It was called the Missouri and North Arkansas--which they said stood for "may never arrive".

Happy Easter

Clayton and Greta before church today.  Erin loves their Baptist Church.  They ate there.  She said they buy the main source from Western Sizzlin' because someone is the manager there and the members bring a dish or two.  It works out nicely.  Today they had a egg hunt too and then one at Meme's house I think
Clayton is handsome and Greta gorgeous.

Two Lavish ads Astrid had been in.
Ingrid and her friend today before church.  Ingrid scrunching and Claire tip toeing!
Astrid and her new top she bought at Lavish for 15 bucks I think she said.  Nothing there is over 40 dollars.

Laura got the girls new shoes for their Easter baskets.  Getting too old for chocolate bunnies.

Laura said to keep the meal simple and it was all so good. Below are Sigrid's deviled eggs.  She colored the egg part.  They are good and really Easter looking.  She made lemon layered dessert.  It had the crust, then a cream cheese layer, then lemon layer and then a cool whip layer.  It was really tasty with a cup of coffee.

These are Laura's rabbits Mema made her.  Can't remember the date but a long time ago as she passed away in 1998 and it was long before then.  Laura washed their clothes.  They looked like new.
Ingrid's grades--97, 94, 98, and two 99s.  Other girls had good grades too, but these came in the mail.
Note from Sigrid's GT teacher.  Says:  I admire your confidence.  Your smile brightens my day.  You are such an asset to our class.
This was on the fridge.  Sigrid had dressed up for a report at school.  She is one of a kind!
Tomroow I plan to share my new Patsy's new chicken house and more of the kids playing when they came down Saturday.  Greta brought her tumbling mat and bike.  She showed out on both!

Early Birthday

Little Sigrid Eugenia Marie will be eleven on the 30th.  We celebrated the day with Clayton and Greta.   Sigrid can be described as pure joy to Gigi and Pop!

Clayton and Greta's Visit

Clayton and Greta came to bring Sigrid her birthday gifts.  I made the soda pop cake that I saw Brenda Gail had made.  I took more pictures and will post some later.  I am tired.  Glad my Sisters had a great day.
