No Tricks

Here are the Harrison tricksters.  They wore their costumes to school.  Erin thought it was a horrible idea and worried about Clayton's behavior dressed like this.  But all went well.  The dress was the school's idea not Erin's.
I sent the two a card and a little cash.  Clayton went to the mail box and picked it up after school.  It got there on the right day!  If  Aunt Helen lived closer she would have been surprised!
Up, up the hill went the two little creatures...of course Miss Greta is way out front.  She is tough.
Eric asked if Erin would take her two trick or treating.  All his are too old he said.  I told him I doubted Erin would be chauffeuring them.  And...I was right...look who is undertaking the task!  This is Grandma Janie's house.  I really like her.  She was born near Snow Ball and is a great country lady!!
I think this house is neighbor Freda's.  She invites Greta and Clayton to stay over night when her two grand kids stay.  She is a nurse at Boone County Hospital.
Sigrid fixed a big feast for her family.  I tried one of these.  Pop tried some of everything.  He said it was all good.  Since, she decided she was too old to go trick or treating, she fixed a special family meal.  I saw pigs in a blanket, dipped pretzels, apples with carmel sauce.  Pop said it was all Sigdelicous.

Cabinet Doors

Erin and Greg are getting cabinet doors put on the cabinets in their old house.  They bought the cabinets off Craigslist and they did not fit perfect so Greg added some to them.  He built a pantry.  The doors make the kitchen look so nice.  They plan to rent the house.  Some lucky woman is going to have a nice kitchen.

The girls came over last evening to visit.  It was a treat for two old people.  Sigrid has a little bit of a snarl.  Don't recall why!
I walked this morning.  Too hot to wait until afternoon.  I am heading out to pick up Ingie at 3:00.  Also, making Lois Rudd's banana bread as I had two over ripe bananas.  Recipe calls for 3 bananas, but oh, well, bet this will work.

Thursday

I found this photo of the RJHS Colors' Day Court at their FB page.  Ingrid is so stunning.

Eric and Laura had to be at Conferences for their respective schools this week.  Astrid played parent for Sigrid and Ingie and I went to Astrid's conference at High School.  She had all A's and all her teachers complimented her.  It was a joy to get to fill in for her parents.  I am hoping I get to do this for Ingie and Siggie one day.

I am working on a crocheted wrap that Laura saw on pintest or whatever it is called.  Then Erin wants a new afghan for her new couch and her new house.  Greg is getting the backyard fence up now and they will move pretty soon.  Erin's birthday is Thanksgiving this year.  Maybe by then.

Hope Helen and Fleta have great days and hope my girls do too.  October is almost over and it is really still almost hot here.   I have to pick up Ingie today at 3 as volleyball is over.  I plan to walk before I go get her.  No need to drive twice.  I go to a trail to walk.  Grass is wet here and the trail is easy stepping!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRETA ANN!

Here are some of the first pictures I posted of Greta.  Hard to believe this sweet one is 6 years old.  I pray today for the Lord to protect her and all the little ones.

She is having cup cakes at school.  You can see from the top picture that Greta looks like Greg's family.  Maybe she has my heart!

Pumpkin People

Clayton and Greta both entered pumpkins in the character pumpkin contest at their school.  Can you guess who either of these are.  I have no clue!   I am out of touch with children's culture.

Colors' Day Court

Ingrid was a member of the Colors' Day Court.  She was beautiful!   I went to the school function in the afternoon and Pop and I attended the football game tonight.    I love both her dresses!  Her Dad looks mighty handsome, too!

Pretty In Pink

Greta's soccer photo is really nice.  She looks good in pink.

Ingrid and her friend, Claire, dressed up in scrubs for twin day at school.  It may be to honor her Aunt Erin, RN.

Fall--Few Days At A Time

We have a day or two of fall and then summers rears it "hot" head again.  Today, I walked two miles and it was hot.  I will say, "I made myself go".    Did not want to go.  Larry has the half of Galla Meadow where the two horses don't roam in such better shape.  Our pasture renter misled us to believe that he would keep it all clean.  He is not the working type.

I had forgotten how inspiring the Meadow was.  It is a lift to any dreary day.
I water my Swamp daisies almost everyday.  Larry drilled holes in that black bucket and the water seeps out.  They need lots of water plus lots of sunshine.  I hope the seeds fall and next year there are more flowers blooming.
 Maple is turning.
 Persimmon feeding the possums.
Ash trees turn more yellow than red, but they are pretty, too.
This is my second grade teacher. This week I discovered that Dad's Grandfather and her Great Grandfather were brothers.  Also, Mom was related twice to her husband who died in a car wreck in 1955.  Her daughter and I graduated together and I had no idea how closely related we were.  She was always so nice and I guess I did not get that gene as I was not!

A Little Porch Sitting

Ingrid's friend had a birthday and Ingrid shared this photo of them.
Thanks to brother and me, Helen can do a little porch sitting.  Oh, and thanks to Greg Aday.  Helen wanted a porch swing and I told her I had an old one but it would need a welder to get it in shape.  I took it to her, Greg fixed it, and little brother attached it to the ceiling with heavy chain.  Now, Helen is set to sit!
Little Sigrid went to a religous retreat this weekend.  I hope she gains some knowledge and has a great time.

Cyclones Win One

I went to Kroger this morning and liked what I saw on the local sports page.  Girls showed out at Greenwood.
Larry is liking his pallet forks.  They work really well just moving stuff around or picking things up.

New Week

 School Days 2016-17
Astrid is a junior, Ingie a freshman, and Sigrid is in the 6th grade.  I hope I get a new school picture of Greta and Clayton.

Greta climbs on her jungle gym and then swings off on this rope, then swings back and grabs the bars again.  She loves exercise.  The other night Erin said she did 70 sit ups.
Astrid's Cross Country team won the meet Saturday at Greenwood.  She got 5th.  I think her time was 21 minutes and 17 seconds.  Laura paid for Astrid to join a gym.  She sets her alarm and 4:45 and goes each morning and then comes back home and gets ready for school and takes Ingrid to JR
High School.
Here is Sigrid and some friends at ad special day at school.  She and her friends were hippies.

Beautiful Day

Helen gave Greta her daughter's Cabbage Patch Dolls.  This is Emma and I think she is at least 30 years old.  Greta will be buying her clothes.  Erin takes her to the thrift stores and lets her shop for her dolls.
Clayton got science experiments and he enjoying them.
Greg is working on their new house.  The floors had damage in at least 3 places and he is fixing them.   He is adding a privacy fence too.  Slow but sure...he will get it done.

Surprise liles and Swamp Daisies are blooming in my yard.
Larry bush hoged the lower places in the meadow.  He tired earlier and got stuck...but is pretty dry now.  We actually need rain.
Here is Ingrid with the rest of Homecoming Court.  Isn't she lovely.
