Fisher Girl

Richland Creek Fishing Hole!!

Clean Fences

One clean fence row in Galla Meadow.
What a job it was. I removed the lowest
barb of the fence so I can get to it
easier with my roll around weeder.

Flowered Border

Flowers rim my Galla Meadow.

Meadow Morning

I took a morning walk in my meadow. I can't
walk fast as there is too much to see and
enjoy and ponder. This is only two of the
scenes this morning. The meadow gives one
strength and a feeling of happiness. Proud
to be alive and able to walk there.

Shucking Corn!

This picture was taken near Falling Water, Ar. It is
some of Larry's relatives shucking corn. I remember
doing this and putting ears in the freezer. Daddy never
blanched his corn, but Larry's mom did. I love it cut
off the cob the best and froze. Candy Corn was always
Larry's Mom favorite type to plant.

Fleta called. George is off the ventalator and has an
oxygen mask on. He is still in the trauma unit. He
is doing better. They are still having to pull stuff
off his lungs. Fleta said next week she will go back
to work. My Erin went to Springfield to see him and
told the nurse...if Fleta needs someone to call her and
she will come there. We are hopeful that he will be
ok.

What's this Patsy?

This flower blooms in the day and closes up at
night. I took this at 6:30 on my morning walk.
It is only partly open. What is it, Sister?
Wonder if I could dig it up and bring it home
as it is so pretty.

My Roses

Patsy, these are my roses--wild ones on
the edge of the meadow...but they are
still pretty.

Patsy's Peonie

Our sermon at church today had one point
that I think is something good. Don't worry
about the past--focus on the future.

Texas Onions

Our friends from Texas sent a photo of
some of their onions. Texas is a good
onion producing state. I wonder if these
are Vidalia?

We may start raising turtles-

With the bad economy...we are thinking of raising
turtles. Maybe the poor will buy them and make
turtle soup...or maybe folks will buy them as
pets. They will be pretty easy to care for and
we will sell them with a hard pen to keep them
in!

Astrid and Siggie will help with the farm, but
Ingrid is not going to be much help. In her
kindergarten memory book there was a picture of
the American flag with the question--why are you
proud to be an American...Ingrid said she loved
America because here you can pick out your own
outfits to wear each day! She is a fashion plate!

Small Pleasures

Eric cooked hamburgers tonight and
we sat in the yard and watched our
girls play. Simple things bring
the greatest pleasure.

Pot for Mother's Day

Larry asked what I wanted for Mother's
Day and I told him I wanted some pot!
I gave him a choice either a push
lawn mower or pot. I got pot. The push
lawn mowers all have plastic wheels now.
I like things with metal wheels not
plastic. I am enjoying my pot on
Mother's Day!

Ramona and Linda

I went to school with these two 'girls'...
Ramoma Chatterton and Linda Humbard. Linda
married Johnny Gordon who lived at one time
in Grandma Powells apartment. Ramona married
a Wilson. Linda works as an aide at the school
and Ramona works at the court house in Berryville.
I was in the same school with Ramona for 12 years
and with Linda from about 6th grade on. I look
lots different than than all that time ago,
and Linda and Ramona do too.

New Pillows!

Fleta sleeps in one of Debbies old night
gowns and I sleep under her little pink
blanket everynight. I don't let the grand
girls play with the blanket or put it in
the floor...it is too special...

For my Mother's Day gift to myself...I
got new pillows and a new set of sheets.
I am posting this picture for Helen. Her
bed looks so modern. I took a shot of my
dresser but then I could see the dust on
the mirror and dresser top so I deleted
that one. I will have to dust before I
post it. My bedroom suit is old Helen
about a 1960 model it is made of birch
and all the drawers are dove tailed. The
bed...I gave to Erin because I needed
a larger bed. This one is queen which is
the size I like. Laura gave the bed to me.
You see all those pill bottles on my side of
the bed...they are for when I get sick in the
middle of the night which is often.

Erin's New Stove

Erin's oven has been torn up
for nearly a month. She got
a new stove...with a oven like
Helen has. Now, she will have to
bake something.

May 2

Debbie would have been 52 today. Patsy will reach
70 tomorrow.

Patsy hope your are doing ok today. Raining here.

Helen, this is the top of Richard's vault.
I thought it was pretty.

Brother

Things Brother Could Do:
1. He could climb any tree...just crab ahold
and shimmy up it. He learned that when he was
a little guy coon hunting with no ammo.
2. He could jump higher than his head over
anything...dare him and he would try it.
3. He could snap the head off a snake by
grabbing the tail of it and swinging it around
and then snapping it...how gross!
4. He could make you laugh at the times you
were the saddest by telling the funniest stories.
