David S.

In the 1980's Larry had a friend who had a gas and convenience station in Russellville.  One of the attendants was a man name Simmons.  He was retired from the Air Force and lived up hiway 7 above Dover.  The day after Christmas, he started killing his entire family.  He put the bodies in a hole he had had his kids dig for this purpose.  After he killed the family who lived at home, he waited for his other kids to come home for Christmas.  He killed them all including his grandchildren, one of whom he fathered.  Then he came down to Russellville.  He killed a young woman who I taught in school.  She was a cute, little gymnast named Kathleen.   Kathleen reported him for harassing her and the trucking company fired him.  So first, he went to kill her and he succeeded.  Then he went to David's station to kill him.  David paid him about minimum wage and he harbored feelings that he should receive much more.  A woman who worked for David made more than he did.  He surely wanted to kill her.  He came in shooting.  In the back of the station, David had some tables as he sold coffee and drinks.  Just little stuff.  Well, a few of the coffee drinkers were there and they threw coke bottles at Simmons and he finally ran out.  No one was killed at David's place.  It all soured David on the operation and he moved back to Texas.  We started wondering about him after the computer age came in.  David died in a car wreck.  All sort of sad.  But it just shows that you can find about anything you want to now days.  Larry and I were talking about David yesterday.  They bought a tractor on the halves and sold it.

Larry bought a tractor yesterday from a fellow whose Uncle owns Potter sausage.  Cecil said the J. C. asked his Dad if he wanted to go in on the business but Cecil's Dad said that will never go over.  Count me out!  Cecil met us at Mcalister, OK with the Cub and we loaded it at Atwood's.  Well, I sat in the truck.  We got there and back fine.  I enjoyed going.  We went through the Cherokee Nation, Creek Nation and down into the Choctaw Nation on the trip.  Now, Larry has a good little tractor he will sell.  The U S government tried to sneak one in on the Indians...giving them the mostly desert OK for the good land in MS, GA, AL and TN.  Well, the Lord looks after the down trodden and there was oil under a lot of these lands!

Siggie is gone to the St. Louis zoo for her birthday.  We are tending the dog until she returns.   I hope she gets to see lots of stuff and the family travels safely!
