Praying Mantis

Astrid made the wall hanging above for Laura's friend at school who makes coffee and shares with her neighbor teachers.  It will look great hanging near the community coffee!  Laura did not start drinking coffee until a few years ago, but she enjoys a good cup in the morning now!  You will have to turn your head to view the picture as my Sister Patsy is no longer here to fix my pictures.
Sigrid took this picture of a praying mantis.  She is holding it on her hand.  The word mantis comes from the Greek mantikos, for soothsayer or prophet. Indeed, these insects do look spiritual and mysterious, especially when their forelegs are clasped together as if they're in prayer.
