Finding a Way

Last night I was able to go outside and walk around for a while. I am seeing results from resting my knee and from riding my therapy bike. I think if I had to be stuck in the house, I would not want to live. My injury has helped me understand why my sister was ready to leave this world.  ðŸŒŽ

This is the sunset I watched. Isn’t it beautiful. Natures beauty feeds my soul.

"Bring me the sunset in a cup." Emily Dickinson

This is a Tulip Poplar tree from the front of my house. It’s a brilliant orange. The leaves are large and their outlines resemble a tulip bloom. This Poplar does bloom. It’s not a favorite tree of mine. I admired its color.  Lots of leaves are falling. I’ll be mowing leaves soon.

I’ve been picking up walnuts so I can be outside. I have a chair, bucket and wheelbarrow to accommodate my handicap. I found this forked hoe under the shed. I rake the walnuts toward me and then add them to my bucket. I use a hiking stick to walk to the wheelbarrow and dump them in it. I have moved a mountain of walnuts. This is another tree that’s not good in a yard. Every year, they create work and a huge mess. I don’t pick the walnuts out. The tree is related to poison Ivy. Laura hates walnuts. She may be allergic to them. But we never buy walnuts for recipes. The squirrels find them where I dump them in the tall grass. By winter’s end they will have gotten every walnut from the pile.

The forked rake broke. The handle was rotten. I put it on a metal handle I had saved. It’s on there with wire and bunch of duck tape. Duck tape is an ignorant woman’s way to repair many things.
