Chipping Away

Larry put the floor in the laundry room yesterday.  We had to have Martine come back and he put new floor under the washer and dryer and a place in the kitchen where it was rotted out.  At some time the washer leaked and it rotted the floor.  The floors here are just pressed wood.  Larry sorta of wanted to tile the laundry but we would had to have re-floored the entire room.  You can see he has pulled all the nasty masonite paneling and put sheet rock up and finished it.  He redid the window.  It did not have any trim.  The old man who built this house was cheap scape.  The inner walls are cedar.  They will never have termites or will not really rot.  He got someone to mill the cedar is what Larry thinks.

Fleta, the floor is not the laminate.  It is vinyl.  Sort of the same but this will really take water, too.  We did not have to put anything under it.  The floor just had to be clean.
Larry left this place under the plumbing for washer.  He has a piece of wood that goes there.  It can be removed to get to these pipes.  He also left a space by the breaker box.  Nothing here is grounded.  Another way Mr. Wilson saved a few cents.  We hope to have a new breaker box some day.  Larry has grounded all the plugins in the kitchen and in here.

I picked the lightest color they had at Lowes ...it is call teak.  It may not match perfect, but it looks better that that green and gold linoleum.

The laundry room has two full closets (one is a pantry and one is for the water heater) and this half closet.  Larry has redone all the doors.  They are beautiful.
These pictures are 2 days apart and you can see the melting is slow.
