Herbert Lee Poor, age 77, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at his home. He was born March 27, 1936, in Omaha, the son of Ella (Poor) Lewallen. Herbert was preceded in death by his step-father and mother, Lee and Ella Lewallen; and his infant twin, Hubert Poor.
Herbert was a charter member and deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Omaha. He worked for Duncan Parking Industries for forty three years. He was a Peewee Basketball coach for ten years and was very proud of his undefeated seasons. Herbert was a lover of nature and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Herbert is survived by his loving wife, Virgie Mae (Mattox) Poor; his sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Carrie Poor of Ridgedale, Missouri and Joe and Shari Poor of Branson, Missouri; and his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jack Yancey, of Ponca, Arkansas. Herbert is also survived by his six grandchildren, Laurie Bebee, Julie Irving, Jason Poor, Taylor Poor, Tanner Poor and Jansen Poor; his three great-grandsons, Isaac Bebee, Elijah Bebee, and Joseph Irving; and a host of friends. Here he is, but still don't know who he is. Well, I guess his mother was a daughter of Chris Poor and Dona.
