Staying all night!
Ingrid stayed all night and we had KFC.
Astrid chose Windy's. I thought I would
talk Siggie into having Pizza Hut pizza.
No, she said I want meat, potatoes, and
macaroni. So we had it. The next day
she told her mother that she was staying
that night with Pop. Laura told her she
stayed last night, but Siggie said "No,
I did not stay last night and I am staying
tonight."

Grand Girls are Home
The Grand Girls are home again. My new
birthday present is finally getting use. I
told Larry I wanted coffee table big enough
for Astrid and Larry to do puzzles on. The
guy at the store had this one marked down
because of scratches on the top...works
great and I don't have to worry about
the girls scratching it...that is already
done.

My Flock
Most of these chickens came from Patsy.
Helen and Fleta, see what you are missing.
The first picture shows the new 7 chickens
in the background. Chickens are like kids
they are cliqueish. The old ones don't have
a lot to do with the new ones. Now, these
chickens are not really a money making project.
I got 3 eggs today and 6 yesterday. I should
cull some of these birds, but I don't really
have the heart...as they are all nice.

Snake Dog
I remember growing up we had a dog we called
Old Ring. She was a snaker. She killed all
the snakes she found. I have a dog in the
house. She will be 11 in Aug. She is the last
dog I plan to keep inside. Belle Starr is a
snaker. Last week, she killed a Spread Adder
(what we call them) and today she killed little
Copperhead by my walk. She grabs the snake and
shakes and slings it. She did this to the Adder
until his guts were out...
The little Copperhead bite her and hung on to
her lip but she got him. Now she is sick so
I have fan blowing on her. She has a fat lip.
I hope it has gone down tomorrow. I feel guilty
for I siced her on the snake.

Ozark Mountains
I stopped on the way back home with
my chickens and took this vista of the
mountains. I could barely see some hay
bales and zoomed in and took a picture
of the hay field. When I got home and
looked I was amazed at what all was in
the picture that I could not see. My
camera is not really a very good one
either. Erin has a real good canon camera.

Sister Helen?
AP Photo (borrowed)
Well, Sister is singing
Oh, Hillary proclaiming
She should be the Chief
Or maybe the Veep
Helen called Obama twice
He asked her advice
Should I pick a Kennedy
Would that remedy
My skin color so tan
Across a white land?
Helen screamed start repentin'
And YOU BETTER pick CLINTON
And H_ll no....not big BILL
Go higher on that HILL
You better choose my Sister
Are you listenin', Mister!?

Our Pond
This is the pond in our meadow. We
had it dug in 1983. I kept telling
the dozer guy to dig it deeper; I noticed
he was shaking his head and he asked if
I was sure I wanted it that deep. Well, it
leaked...as he dug into the shale which I
guess he knew it as you can see shale. Larry
put left over sheet rock in the bottom of
it when it was empty and that helped stop
up the leaks. It is a good pond now. But
I hate those willow trees around the edge
and wish Larry would hook them to the big
Ford tractor and pull 'em up.

Interlopers
George is better!
Fleta called this morning and George is
better. He is worrying about getting the
lawn mowed and 'will she go get him a
paper to read'. Hopefully, he can come
home and do outpatient rehab. If not,
he will be in inpatient rehab. Jr. stayed
last night with George and she slept well.
Jr. is a blessing to his mother.
