My first Day Lily has bloomed. They are called Forgotten Dreams. I water them each morning. I think they are really pretty.

On My Walk

I have seen this same fellow 3 days in a row on my walk...he is waiting to say hi each morning.

Happy Birthday, Eric

Eric is 44 today. Good son-in-law, father, husband, teacher!

Afraid

I am afraid this seed I let grow in my moss is a sunflower and it may 'tip' my bucket as it grows.

A Weed

Weed of no other purpose
Than to make me stop and smile

One Cycle Engine

Erin and Greg and all came yesterday. We all had a good time. Eric cooked for us. This was taken in the kids' backyard. Greta had a few wrecks but was always ready to fly again.

What Do You Get?

What do you get for 39 years?
Well, gray hair and a lot of headache!
Throw in a little heartache!
But mostly 39 years of laughs and fun!

What miracle performed by Jesus is told in all four Gospels--Matthew, Mark, Luke and John?
Don't cheat, now, don't search google! :-).

Well, Well

I am trying to get my lifetime teaching license and the FBI returned my fingerprint card. My prints are worn off. I am trying again, but what about a life of crime? Is it too late for that?

The 1940 census has revealed that the Coal Miner's daughter was 16 when she married and she made up the story about being 13. There will be other things revealed in that document and I sure will be glad when we have an index to it.

I only have one week left in the work force. Yes, I am sad about leaving a school where I have 'lived' 39 years, but other doors open. Last night I walked around in the Meadow and thought how I had not even really got to enjoy living here in my little garden of Eden...

Going to the grocery. Siggie is staying tonight with us. Rest of the family are on a soccer weekend at Fayetteville.

Visiting Martinville

Pond Bank Mower

Larry bought this DR Brush Mower off of Craig's List. One thing we wanted it for was to mow the pond bank. I think I can mow next to the fence too. It pulls itself, but I will not be able to mow the bank. Came home today and Larry had it done. The pond is so beautiful with a clean bank! Larry does all sorts of things around our place everyday. I come home often to a 'nice' surprise! This is a sweet one!

Counting Down

Counting down! Only one week left. This flower came up in my bucket of Moss. I can't wait to see what it is.

Monday, Monday

I am home today. Laura is having a little surgery to rid herself of the fibroid tumors that all the sisters have. Hopefully, this will keep her from having the big surgery we all had to have.

I had all 3 girls overnight. Ingrid and Sigrid are staying home today, but Astrid had to be at school at 7 this morn for volleyball practice. Siggie and Ingie are still asleep. This will be my last day to miss work.

I am thinking once I retire...I probably will not know Monday from Friday...just another day to enjoy.

Siggie told her school that I was going to home school her next year. We have talked about it. Me in jest but I guess she thought it was a good idea. She is a pretty smart girl. She missed most of her subtraction problems...so she told her Mom that she had a surprise in her book bag and there was no need to look in there. Mom looked so Siggie told her she had a paper in there with a lot of RED marks and she should be proud of the paper because Siggie said she thought the boy across the aisle was trying to copy so she missed them ALL on purpose. Mom did not fall for the story.

Cultivision

This is one of Larry's Farmall Cub tractors. He will get better and better at plowing with it. Alot easier than a tiller throwing you around.

Along for the Ride

Sigrid gives the cousins a wagon ride.
All three pull green grass for my chickens.

Sigrid lets Clayton pull the weight.

Sigrid helps Greta out of the wagon seat! Greta could push the wagon but has not learned pull.

Hazel's Daughter

Hazel Bates' daughter is not well. She contacted me about her mother's papers.
She wants me to have at least part of her mother's work. What an honor! I gladly
accepted. I do not think there are things in the work that we do not know, but still
I will be glad to see what she sends me.
