Sister is our flower girl. I asked her to create the flower arrangement for my friend Jonell’s husband’s service. It goes on one of those stands. It turned out perfect. It’s has reeds in it and Kenny loved the water. I will travel north to his service Saturday.
Tommy Kent Gatlin of Green Forest, Arkansas passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 76. Tommy was born in Harrison, Arkansas on October 12, 1946, to Thomas and Eugenia (Widener) Gatlin.
He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and being in the great outdoors and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Tommy and Jonell enjoyed visiting various churches, one of the last being the First Baptist Church in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Tommy married Jonell Rudd on August 23, 1969, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his sons Bradley K. Gatlin and Perry J. Gatlin, both of Green Forest, Arkansas; four grandchildren Vanessa Edgmon, Kurtis Gatlin, Carly Jean Gatlin and Cyntha Jo Gatlin; two great grandchildren Rylan Edgmon and Addie Edgmon; two sisters Connie Sue Luney (Joe) of Alpena, Arkansas and Chloe Dean Coatney (Wendell) of Berryville, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Eugenia Gatlin and one brother Terry Stevan Gatlin.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., following visitation with Pastor Adam Wade officiating. Interment will follow at the Farewell Cemetery. Everyone welcome for refreshments at Darla Methvin’s home after the services, located near the cemetery. I wonder if he was a distant relative to Larry Gatlin and his brothers who sang, "All the Gold in California".
