Astrid raced her dirt bike, but Ingrid’s and Justin’s race looked like fun. This is the first year they’ve had extra money. Now, both work and aren’t paying for school. They moved to a bigger, nicer, and safer apartment. Last weekend they went to Hot Springs to the horse races. I don’t gamble, but taking 20 bucks and picking horses to win would be fun. I’ve never been but I can imagine watching them whirl down the track.
The wood ducks are guarding their nest at Pop’s Pond.
I’m busy push mowing as it’s too wet to mow my lane with the rider. I’m mowed for an hour today. It’s good exercise but I can’t do it long.

I have enjoyed horse races over the years, Churchill Downs several times and a racetrack up in Winnipeg a long time ago. I always wanted to go to the dog races in Columbus Nebraska! Push mowing is hard work..wait for it to dry out!
