Grandma Powell Hot Water Rolls

Sister Fleta gifted Laura Dad’s Navy Discharge.  Yesterday she framed it.  I remember Mom and Dad kept it in their cedar chest.  Their marriage license was there too.  Our birth certificates in there too—all important thing were in the old cedar chest. Stuff we cherish is sometimes trash to others.  If you find someone that likes some old thing you have find a home before you die or it may be burned in a big pile of your junk as others see your gems.
Ingrid graduates soon.  May 11 from Tech and in June from Baptist Health.   She now has a full time job with a cardiologist.  Cardiac ablation is a treatment for irregular heartbeats, called arrhythmias. It uses heat or cold energy to create tiny scars in the heart. The scars block faulty heart signals and restore a typical heartbeat. She will do his tests to locate the spot he fixes is what I’m thinking, but I’m really too ignorant to know.
Also, yesterday, Laura made Grandma Powell’s hot water rolls.  Momma often  mixed a roux like mixture of yeast flour, sugar, salt and water.  Let it rise.  Then she mixed in the flour and let it rise.  Lastly, she made the rolls and let them rise.  The three times rising is what makes them so good. Momma always had milk and cream, but she said hot water rolls were the best.

So many of us are trying to declutter and I've been trying. It's hard though.

So glad Ingrid got a job! I hope she like it! I now have the stuff my Mother kept...I am struggling with what to keep and what to destroy. It is no fun. Oh those rolls look great!
