May 3

Sister Fleta gave me a sprig of Lamb’s Ear.  It hasn’t bloomed for me but now I’ve had it two years.  I love gifted plants as I always recall the giver when I see them.

Today is my Sister Patsy’s birthday—86!  Sister Patsy mostly made her own way through life with little outside help, just like she made her way alone across the fields to school at age six.  She was highly intelligent, always interested in learning, such a hard worker, and could grow anything!  Patsy raised four children, three sons and one daughter—all gone but dear Kelly!  One of her sons said of her, “There’s nothing my Momma couldn’t do.”  What better tribute could a mother have?

Your Lambs Ear is very pretty. I used to have some here but they eventually froze out. I used to show all the little kids how soft the plant was.
