Lessons Learned
Larry gave something important to his grand girls that lived across the way—his time. Astrid spent many hours with her Poppa. They squirrel hunted in the forest, built things, fished, shopped. A frequent outing was buying breakfast for them at his favorite hang out—The Waffle House! He gave all 3 Christensen girls driving lessons. They would have to back up using the mirrors of the truck. He took them somewhere in Johnson County where he let them drive for hours. He said Ingie was the best at going backwards. He held on with Sigrid. She liked the gas pedal.
The most important thing you can give those you love is your time. They will grow up emulating what they have seen you do, not following all the garage you spout with your lips. Little eyes are always watching.
Adam Remember
Adam Wade lost his Dad, Roscoe a few weeks ago. He is missing home immensely. He posted this little newspaper story and I am sharing it so I can keep the articles. I have no advice for anyone about loss of a loved one. With me, time hasn’t healed, but if you believe you will be aided by the great Comforter, the Holy Spirit. He’s is still here and always ready when you call out to him.

BFF
I am with my best friend today. We sang, read, danced and laughed together. We haven’t discussed the election. I’ll let her use her knowledge, understanding and wisdom to make choices. We’ll still be friends no matter what she decides. I hope you can be friends with those who may not agree with you. It’s a foundation of our nation.

Traffic Jam
Traffic Jam.
My baby daughter is an RN and she works as an evaluator of needs. It’s a pretty complicated job and it takes her all over northwest Arkansas. She will often call me if she is stopped for road delay. She sent me this today with the label—traffic jam. I thought at first she saw it on the internet and shared it, but, no, she was heading down this road less taken for an interview with a client. I’m not sure if it’s a pig or dog in front of the mule. What do you think? Nothing surprises Erin anymore on her travels.

Blue Moon
![]() |
I tried to take a picture of the blue moon on October 31. Any time two full moons occur in one month the second one is called a "blue moon". Generally, there is only one full moon each month. Some years February does not even have a full moon. That happened in 2018. Each of the twelve moons have names.
January: Wolf Moon, Old Moon, Moon After Yule
February: Snow Moon, Hunger Moon, Wolf Moon
March: Sap Moon, Crow Moon, Lenten Moon
April: Grass Moon, Egg Moon, Pink Moon
May: Flower Moon, Planting Moon, Milk Moon
June: Rose Moon, Flower Moon, Strawberry Moon
July: Buck Moon, Thunder Moon, Hay Moon
August: Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon
September: Fruit Moon, Harvest Moon
October: Harvest Moon, Hunter’s Moon
November: Hunter’s Moon, Frosty Moon, Beaver Moon
December: Cold Moon, Moon Before Yule, Long Night Moon
