Are they too little?

This is what I was planning to put in the
back of my truck when I go get my babies
next week. But Patsy said she would have
to wrap chicken wire around it...so I have
a water heater box I found....

Patsy, can the chicks get out these holes.
Sure don't want to come up there and loose
my hatched chicks before we arrive home!
Ok, which one this or the box?

You could use this with a heavy duty trash bag on the inside and secured with the lid.

I don't want to get home with dead chickens...they might smother.

They won't smother if you do not put the trash bag over the top. Just get a realy big bag, Put it inside the thing like it was a trash can, lapping the extra over the top of the container an back down on the outside. Fasten the lid on top. The lid has holes to let in air and the chicks will not go out the top.

I think maybe you should just tie then up in the bed of the truck like we used to do a dog...Get some twine and make a SLIP knot and put one over each of the little chicks head and tie them to the truck bed. I'll bet that would work.

they can get out of the larger holes looks like to me bring the box! the trash bag sounds ok but i don't know i put 15 chicks in a pil;low case to move them to the other pen, when i took them out one was dead. if you bring the box i will tape the top. turn it on it's side and punch holes with my knife.
