You wonderfully clever mother, you. My own mother always used to tell each of us that we were her favorites - and she'd tell us all at the same time in hearing shot of each other. We knew she loved us, each and every one, with very special love - and we liked knowing that we were all well-loved and deserving of favorite status. Maybe that was our first sharing experience.

My Mother too made us all feel that we were her favorite.
She shared many things with us:
With Patsy she shared many inner
thoughts that she never voiced with
her younger daughters. things about
sex and marriage that she would have never discussed with the other three of us.
With me she loved that I had a good life and good kids. She always bragged on my kids' behaviour. And loved for me to come up and cook for her.
With Helen she shared many of the same feelings about having everything clean and be a housewife.
With Fleta she found security of a daughter that would care for her until the end of her days and never ever forsake an oath she gave to do so. I remember her worrying about Fleta being cold and wanting to get her a big warm coat. I doubt Mom got $500 dollars a month and she spent a bundle ordering a coat from J C Penneys. She wanted me to have a bedroom lamp like her own that she loved and she ordered one for me.

We all loved her as she was our FAVORITE mother!

You have four pretty girls in that photo, and I love the big smiles of your "favorite" daughters.
