Christmas trees have changed!

Powell family tree 1957

Larry's Great Grandparents tree 1947

Christmas trees have really changed
over the years. We always had those
tin foil icicles to hang on the tree
but most of the other stuff...we made.
Pat McCormack is in front of Larry's
Great Grandparents tree in 1947. His
stocking is hung and looks like it
has an apple or orange in it. I like
the way the gifts are wrapped and tied
up with string.

Look at that little girl's happy face.

And I like the idea of hanging the gifts from the tree too. Why have I never done that? Perhaps this year I'll hang some from the tree at the house where I will celebrate the holidays. I couldn't hang anything from my non-existant tree at my house.

Happy Day, Betty.

Great memories! You're right, trees have changed! We had an alumunim (SP?) tree when I was a kid in the 50's.
