Wild Azalea in Georgia

A friend in Georgia sent me this photo
of the wild Azaleas blooming near his
home. I can't get an Azalea (tame) to
live...they are supposed to like acid
soil and when they bloom they are so
beautiful, but all of mine die.

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a wild azalea. Maybe they are mostly in the mountains in N Ga. Not sure.
Sorry to hear about your brother.

Here is a pictorial tour of our travels in the greater Blue Ridge including parts of Georgia. This trips include several visits to see native azaleas.

Evergreen azaleas do well in Tulsa.
