I love history, data, records, genealogy! Way back in the 1980’s the Three Sisters ordered records from the National Archives. Sister Fleta ordered my father’s entire military file from 1944-1945. Recently the 1950 census was released by the Archives. Laura carried me to the Clinton Library last evening to hear Colleen Shogan, Archivist of the United States. Shogan was born in Pittsburgh. She was encouraged to read mysteries by her late mother, Patricia, and started with books from the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series. Shogan graduated from Norwin High School. She has authored 8 mystery books. Her first was “ Stabbing in the Senate”.
She was a first-generation college student in her family and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Boston College and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in American politics from Yale University.
I enjoyed the talk so much. The Archives houses billions of records of our country—soon to be 250 years of records. I’m going to read Stabbing in the Senate!
