Reading

I finished the book I was reading. It’s setting is Washington D C just after W W II, McCarthy time. The story centers on an all-female boarding house, where secrets and tensions rise until a murder occurs.  I won’t rate it since I am not really a fiction reader. It wouldn’t be relevant to lovers of fiction.

This “Leaves me Okay” is about Lucille Hatch Eldridge through her Grandson’s eyes. It was more my speed. Lucille "Mama Ceal"  wrote to her grandson Walter Pryor weekly for nearly 30 years, from his boyhood until she died at 80. She was not a well-educated person, having completed only the eighth grade. She worked as a live-in maid in a little room on their property. She raised others people's children,

Fleta will be here about noon. Sigrid will be recovering. It’s warm like spring. I bought diesel yesterday. I will mow weeds soon.

I've heard good things about Kate Quinn; I'm not sure I've read anything by her. Did you enjoy the book? I'm not much of a non-fiction reader and wish I were. Have a good time with Fleta!
