Sigrid's Last Game

Today was Sig's last volleyball game so I went to support her.  She tells me anytime we discuss volleyball  that she doesn't care for it much.
Greg's recliner has been broken for some time.  Erin found this used one on swap for 50 bucks.  Clayton helped carry it in so he was the first to enjoy it.  It is really about the same as the old one.  Erin said the old one was 13 years old.  She doubts this one will last that long.

Another Squirrel Hunter

“The woods are but the ears of the Almighty, the air is his breath, and the light of the sun is little more than a glance of his eye.”

Ingie

Ingie at the Cyclone game.

Another Blessing

Greta is going to have a new brother or sister.  She jumped up and down with joy and Clayton said, "you got to be kidding"!

Saving Memories

They young man on the left is Ryan Talley and the other young man is a wrestler.  I forget his name.
Each year past recipients are invited to the luncheon.

Astrid and her cross country coach.
 Riding in the parade.
 Sigrid

 Dr. Gotcher and me
This is from the football game.  They were introduced to the crowd.  We won the game.  That is nice.
There was also a pep ralley--don't have a picture of that.  Astrid was going from one event to the next all day.  It all turned out great.

My Girl and Gigi

Astrid In Homecoming Parade

Clayton the Cartoonist

Well, I know this is funny, but I am slow and don't get it all.  He really did a great job drawing these!

Astrid Is A RHS Hall of Fame Member

I attended the Hall of Fame Luncheon today.  So proud of Astrid--the only female from last year's class inducted!  This is a lifetime achievement!
Astrid's ride in the Homecoming Parade!  Will go with her red dress!

Fried Pies

I cooked some of my apples that My New Patsy let me in on!  Larry wanted fried pies.  Laura makes them.  I don't recall ever making fried pies but Larry says I have.  I cooked each side twice because Larry likes things done.  Well, I felt the crust was still doughy inside so I guess I need to roll them thinner.  It only takes a tablespoon of filling to each one.  Laura's are really good.  I could not even eat all the one I tried!  I am just not a very good cook anymore, but since it is Larry's favorite thing, I will try again.

Helen, did Momma ever make fried pies?   I don't think so but your memory is much better than mine!  She made cobbler a lot.  It was so good.

When you are old and fat, the heat is really miserable.  I will be glad when it is cooler.  It says 85 degrees outside here, but to me it feels like 95.

Larry brother came and cut down the dead Ash tree that was just a little ways from our back porch.  We were afraid a storm would put one of the limbs through our roof.
Gary's friend, Mr. Weaver, is up in the tree.
This was the scary part--I prayed don't let it fall on the house.  It fell right where Gary had it planned to fall.
Larry is in charge of clean-up, but Gary said he will come back with a friend that has a fireplace and they will cut a lot of it into fire wood.

Sigrid the Setter

I am not positive if a volleyball player is called setter, but that is Sig's position.  I went to her game yesterday and she played really well.  They won their match!  Go, Sig.

This a succulent that someone gave me years ago.  I thought it had all died out and then I saw a sprig this spring.  Well, look it even bloomed and is so pretty.  Astrid likes succulent's.  I must show it to her.

Up, Up On Your Toes, Greta Ann

Greta is now working on the balance beam.  I know she will love that too!  She is playing soccer and basketball.   Erin is kept busy hauling her to practice and games.  Clayton has to tag along.  He probably hates it.
